These pictures were rather acted than real.

No one can be in any security custody and being allowed to take even 1 picture. Look at the pictures critically, they are joyous and happy for being under arrest.

Most of them posed in the pictures. If you are in doubt, just walk in to a police station, even without being under arrest and try and take a selfie.. Then you would understand better.

So to me, it's a concocted lie, aimed at implicating their opponents.
