if 7 out of almost 25 banks in the nation did fail this test......

then I ask where is capitalisation that prof soludo did during his time and our financial institutions is really in a messy state for First bank to be mentioned in the list.

The banks on that list are among the first 10 banks in nigeria. I think its bad belly but I could be wrong.

The major reason FBN is on that list is because a huge chunk of their underperforming loans are dollar denominated. One can only imagine the kinda stress the bank is going through now, given the recent devaluation of the naira.

I think the Dubai Investment Firm was hasty to go to the Press and their motive is ulterior as they have no locus standi to give a verdict on Nigerian banks. The whole report was to rubbish Nigerian banks. The public should not be jolted into panc withdrawals and account closures in these banks. There is a difference between liquidity crisis and system collapse. These banks could be going through liquidity issues but are still within the required limit. The rising cost of doing business, non performing loans and the mopping up of public sector account with the low rate of credit creation is really dealing a big blow on the banks but as far as I am concerned, the asset to liability ratio of these banks are still within the comfortable region.

This report should be coming from the CBN. So thank the company for pointing it out to the CBN and the general public.

I have serious issues with my pension fund administrator and i can't complain to pencom because nothing works on their website. No complaints section you send mails no response. And I'm thinking what does the leadership get paid to do. Funds are remitted but customers do not get statements.

Is it when the banks and the PFAs crash that the CBN and PENCOM and other regulatory bodies will now stand up or is it all buhari buhari. What's the point of the leadership of the financial institutions.

Now that some of are banks are going down there and even before this was exposed many of them have already said they are retrenching their many staffers in LQ. Here are what will happen 1) Some of the staffers will be looking for a way to steal customers' money at the end of the year many customers will lose their money to to the staffers 2)The high rank officials will take big loan in the name of some customers but not having intension of remitting it 3)Lacadasical atitute agaist the banks property among the staffers will increase 4)lack of trust among the staffers 5) many customers will not trust their banks so they will be withdrawing bulks out of banking sector
