Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosu yesterday lashed out at aggrieved workers of the state civil service who have threatened to go on strike over unpaid allowances and wages.

At a town hall meeting organised by the Ministry of Budget and Planning at June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, insisted he would not succumb to the demands of the workers.

According to him, it is insensitive of the workers to be threatening to go on strike even when the economic recession is biting hard on all states.

"We all know this, yet some are not using their brains. They don’t have brains and they don’t know what they are doing. They don’t have sense. I cannot give what I don’t have. Teachers alone collect N2 billion monthly. If you want to join politics go and resign, you can then become card carrying member of political parties, you can start printing posters if you want to contest” He said.

I recall vividly during the last election in my state, electorates were easily coerced to vote for the party, whose henchmen gave them N40 yoghurt under the scorching sun... Imagine selling your votes for N40 kpere grin

The Governor is obviously frustrated but he should understand that the civil servants are more frustrated.

Salaries are no longer regular and even when they come, they are not complete yet prices of goods and services have increased.

Amosun has shown great contempt for the state civil servants with this vituperative attack on them. When did it become a crime to ask for what is due to one?

Amosun and his party will pay dearly for his condescending attitude towards the state civil servants. The workers are not asking for much; all they want is their deductions which the governor has been feeding fat on.

1st.. Amosun is not owig any salary
2nd.. He didn't even say such..

The reason the teachers are going on strike is illogical...

He promised to pay their deduction and after he inaugurated his LDCA chairmen, they claimed they are too much and he went be able to pay their deduction.

Does that even make sense?

They said he must pay the deductions because they feared he might not be able to pay the deductions he promised next month...

Deductions isn't the only reason they are going on strike, what about tasce salaries ? What about gratuities?

Besides amosun is only paying half salary and not full salary because cooperative deductions are part of workers salaries .

Imagine some workers are members of two cooperative societies .

And amosun said those words, my friend was at the town hall meeting yesterday. Amosun has been reckless this second term and very arrogant too.
He is not the same man i voted for in 2003,2007,2011 and 2015 .

They are fighting over deductions and not even gratuities... And he doesn't owe the workers any salary...

I knw this because I have teachers, both retired and still working in my family.. abeg..stop lying..
