@ all, the attached picture, who knows where i can buy it, and the nigerian name for it?

They are called Expansion Bolts. You can also call them Anchor Bolts. I used them to anchor my solar panel support brackets to the floor. I bought them from someone who sells electrical accessories, bolts and nuts, cable lugs etc.

Cheers

You can find it where they sell building material, there they call it expansion bolt. But the right name is anchor bolt or foundation bolt.

utter rubbish,
go for mppt, is your setup 24v or 48v?, if 48v 60amp mppt wud b good, if 24, you need 80amps mppt

batteries last per load connected to it, convert the juice in ur battery to watts, and divide by the wattage of ur load, multiply by 80% to factor in losses/efficiency, or first multiply the baat wattage by 50% to get 50% dod

A 24v setup.
80amp per 1kw array or 40amps per 1kw array, please?

80amp per 1kw array or 40amps per 1kw array, please?

80amp for the combined 2kw setup, if u want to combine them
u can buy 40/45amp mppt if you want to maintain your present single setup of 1kw each

see how to calculate the apprioprate sizing of CC .
DIVIDE UR SOLAR PANEL WATTAGE / SYSTEM VOLTAGE ef 1000w / 24v - 42amps or so, thus because of losses and inefficeincy, a 40/45amps mppt cc can be used, hope you get my drift

Could be due to high temperature especially when mounted on aluminum roof with no airspace under. An advantage of platform mount over roof mount

pls does anyone know abt the ipowerplus inverters how good are they? And I was told it is incorporated with an MPPT. Is this possible since MPPTs are to be connect to batteries and not inverters? Or am I missing something. pls help i believe one should ask and ask before making any moves because of the huge amount involved

There are many inverters with built-in mppt solar charge controllers and most perform well so long as you don't load them beyond their capability. Most are transformerless type with surge capability not as good as standalone inverters and thus not suitable for older generation motors(air conditioners, water pump etc). However, its connections are simple and straight forward. Personally, i prefer standalone systems.

If the SON you mentioned is the
Standards Organisation of Nigeria , I'll say most SON's approved product do not pass rigorous testing. Or if they do they don't follow up to ensure standards are maintained.

So that a product is SON approved doesn't make it really standard.

After recent upgrades , fairly used inverters would be up for sale as soon as customer friendly prices are fixed ...

Pure sine wave Inverters with functional inbuilt rugged chargers includes;

1) TRIPP-LITE APSINT2424 (USA 3.5kva 24v 2400w) 230v AC input/output

2) Cyber Power 3.5kva 24v (Netherland yellow coloured model)

3) Microtek 3.6kva 48v (Indian 48v pure sinewave inverter)

NOTE: Prices & pictures loading soon !

from the lil kmowledge of physics i know, i think its the way you installed the panels, you fastened the sides firmly, thus the panel didnt hv space for normal expansion and contraction that happens in the life of a panel.

you can see even in the construction of bridge, the surface is made in sections, with pitch or soft metal inbetween each section.
without such a system, the bridges would undergo what is called buckling, and the surface would be irregular and undulating

I'm tired of the poor harvest from my 2kw pv array by the PWMs installed.
Imagine am yet to see more than 24amp harvest for a 4 battery bank of 200aH any day.

Please anyone selling 80amp MPPT or 40amp MPPTs?

I understand my brother, I fill ur pain. ur are in a river but ur thirsty. using pwm is usually not satisfying even though they do their bit.
pls borrow money & buy mppt. even with my worthless 450w panels I get a minimum of 56AH per day ur 2kw with mppt will be rainstorm.

I envy you ooo!

How much can a 80amp mppt harvest at full sun? My PWMs are doing maximum of 20amps.

It depends on temperature, cloud effect, irradiance, cast shadows, dirt on the surface of the panels. In general you should be able to harvest up to 3 times the harvest from PWM

pls beware I pasted reading of amp-hour harvest of 60A mppt. (11amp@peak)

theoretically, you should be close to 135AH-156AH per day as harvest.

mind you I figure out you're better experienced.

wishing you luck.

pls don't compromise quality!
