The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders has said the comments of former President Jonathan about the allegations against his former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), was a way of preparing for his own defence when he was eventually called to question.

Jonathan had expressed disbelief against the allegation against Dasuki while giving a lecture at the Oxford Union in the United Kingdom.

He said, “They said the National Security Adviser (Sambo Dasuki) stole $2.2bn. I don’t believe somebody can just steal $2.2bn.
‘‘We bought warships, we bought aircraft, we bought lots of weapons for the Army and so on and so forth and you are still saying $2.2bn (was stolen). So, where did we get the money to buy all those things?

But the Executive Chairman of CACOL, Mr. Debo Adeniran, said the former President’s comments were expected.

thats why he said he doesnt knw how possible it is for dansuki to steal such money..even after those who benefited from that looting had returned their shares.

My own question is why are they foot-dragging in the trial of Dasuki?.. BTW even Buhari exonerated Abacha so, it's not a new thing..

Dasuki is asking for open trial. So y not give it to him? But you give him open media trial and people who call themselves intellectuals are sounding foolish because of low reasoning capacity.

GEJ has not said there were no cases of corruption, but to say 2.1 billion USD was stolen by Dasuki is the height of cluelessness and dogmatism by anyone. I am not surprised at your comment because a 'prophet has always not been without praises except by his own people'. He was a bad president because he didn't engage in a political whitch-hunting, ruled nigeria in a divisive ways, made lopsided appoints or gave people appoints without proper consultations. Was Jonathan 'badly smartly' or 'smartly bad' that the very intelligent ones now can not fix what he spoiled. Empty barrel has always been known to make the loudest noise.

The reason why intelligent rarely ever call someone else unintelligent is that you have to prove this demonstrably, and in most cases, its extremely difficult to do that, but you seem to be an exception. For example, what is a 'docile, sleeping duck'? I am very certain you meant 'Sleeping dog' but I am certain you are one of many Nigerians that hear big words on DStv and unable to interpret such phrases, regurgitate it as you hear it, hoping that your reading audience are as intellectually lazy as you are. And yet you belittle a past President.

Back to the topic: EFCC/DSS are playing on the intelligence of the generality of Nigerians. Where is ANY evidence that Dasuki stole money? There is no evidence whatsoever that is why every court worth its salt has insisted he be released. This Coalition against Corrupt Leaders are simply pandering to the public saying that a man who has stated something that is demonstrably true as 'ignorant'. If this is Ignorance, what is Knowledge?
