If you ask me, UK VAC is much closer to you so I'd have suggested you apply via the VAC in the UK as canada doesn't have an Office in Ireland. But since you'd be in Nigeria on holiday during this time, you can always apply here in Nigeria and have your Biometric taken here as well. You apply with the required documents, including your bank and asset details both in Nigeria and Ireland. However, please clarify with the Embassy before you apply. Send an email to them at lagos@international.gc.ca or lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca. Make the email subject 'URGENT HELP NEEDED'. I'm sure they'd reply you promptly. You'd be guided on how to go about your application as well. Good luck.

Can I change to attend a different conference which is one week earlier than the one i planned to go? Do I need to inform CIC when I get my passport back? When should I expect the passport return?

ok. You'll receive another message once your passport is ready for collection. Whether you can attend another conference taking place earlier than the planned one or not depends of the validity of your visa. If your visa validity starts from a date earlier than the conference you want to attend before the planned one, it's ok otherwise, you'd have to do away with it

He/she can, of course. But it's advisable the CEO has somebody else( a staff in quote) prepare and sign it because you're assumed to be responsible enough to employ staff in your company who could introduce you as the applicant. You can't be the CEO and at the same time the company secretary, accountant, Admin Officer, Technician, Operations Personnel, Sales personnel, etc. This is the reason you should have somebody do the signing , to show responsibility as a business owner who runs a functional company with employees under his company's payroll . You could design a format yourself and have somebody else endorse it wit his/her name and signature. Instead of the letter to read for instance.... I, Mr. ABC would like to introduce my self as the CEO of xyz Nigeria Ltd., it should read....

We hereby introduce Mr. ABC, who's the founder and CEO of XYZ Nig. Ltd....then you can proceed from there. At the end, it should read.

This will also boost your tie to your country . I apologise for saying this...my humble self has got enough experience in the last 12 years(both favourable and unfavourable). I had underestimated documentation in the past which had taught me a great lesson. That's why I always try as much as possible to be detailed in my explanations, using my experience as a case study or reference so others wouldn't fall in the same pit. I had been refused UK visa once as a first time UK applicant about 7 years ago....I was shocked cos I had been to US 3 times and Canada twice, before this time but as an employee in a telecoms firm. My company was barely a year old at that time. I prepared the letter of introduction myself, signed it...also prepared a board resolution myself,signed and sealed it. In the refusal letter, It was stated as part of the reasons for refusing me that... you claim to be the CEO of your company but you introduced yourself in the letters addressed to us. This has somewhat cast a doubt on the credibility of your application as you've not been able to prove that you're a responsible business owner, as there's no evidence that you have employees working in your company who could have been the one introducing you. The board resolution was also prepared, signed and sealed by yourself instead of getting a member of the board do this....blablabla. I reapplied a few months later, prepared the letter format but asked my wife to sign and seal it as if she was the one who introduced me and I got 6 months multiple. My wife is the executive director of my young firm, though she has her own personal business.

I wish to apply for Canadian Tourist Visa in next summer 2017. I'm going to spend 2 weeks as a tourist. I have Irish Green Card here in Ireland and i'm married with children. I'm studying but working part time. I have visited the UK twice in 2004 and 2006. However, there is no Canadian embassy here in Ireland. I will be in Nigeria for holiday around that time but i am not sure if the Canadian embassy will accept my application in Nigeria as i have family ties in Ireland and as Ireland is my country of residence?. He has a green card and it's not the same as being a Passport holder. US green card holders are currently the only ones in that category that can apply for ETA.

Because your wife is applying then both of you have to apply online from Nigeria, do your biometrics and go back to dubai. I believe you can use your dubai statement. You just have to put uae as your country of residence. When they send you an approval mail, you would have to come back to Nigeria to submit your passports for visa. You have 30 days to submit your passport after you receive the approval mail. This is just my thinking

I'm aware Jayfierce had also advised you on this. If your passport is requested upon approval of your visa application, you can do either of these....one, send your passport to VFS in Nigeria from your location (it's VFS that will be instructed by the embassy to request your passport and you'll receive a message to that effect). Alternatively, during your Biometric capturing in Nigeria, you inform VFS of your location and make arrangement with them on the despatch of your passport. They'd advise you on courier services and relevant charges in this regard.

I know how frustrating it can be when you try to get information from the Student Visa session, all you see is "Medical hopefuls" and lots. I tried to find information too when I wanted to apply for my Visitor Visa. Anyway, recently I received a Multiple Entry Visa Canada So, the basic requirement are all in the website: Application form, Family information and all that. Now, other document to submit depends on your purpose of visit. You need to prove to the VO that you will return after your visit. When I returned to the country after my first visit most of my friends thought I was stupid to have returned and I even met few people over there who told me what to do to remain in Canada. I'm glad I was smarter and returned even before my visa expired. Believe me, I will never advice anyone to overstay. Plan to return at least for sake of next application. That is why they really want to make sure you have strong reason to return.

Items that will prove that you will return are: Strong tie to Nigeria, regular employment, fat account balance, assets, and previous travel history.

1. IRCC sends a mail to your CIC account requesting for your original passport to finalise your application.
2. Go to the VFS website either in the UK or in Nigeria and click passport request.
3 Follow the instructions for sending your passport which includes:
A) Paying for courier service through VFS or using a self addressed return courier envelope.
B) Paying for passport transmission to the Embassy if you want to use A DIFFERENT VFS FROM THE ONE THAT CAPTURED YOUR BIOMETRICS. If you decide to use same VFS that captured your Biometrics then PASSPORT TRANSMISSION IS FREE.
C) Print the biometrics letter from your CIC account and send it along with any other payment receipts you made. Fill the VFS consent forms and include them.
4) You can also send an mail with scanned copies of the receipts you sent to VFS. That is if you sent any.

how do we convince the v.o that we will definately come back after holidays? husband will be staying back as home ties but how do we reconcile accounts since i will be the main applicant?
Does my husband need to present all his account statements including his company account?

Usually 30 days from the date the biometrics capture was requested. It will be clearly stated in the request from CIC.

You ticked that you would like to receive monthly updates in your CIC account. I still continued to receive that monthly update even after Visa approval. I've disabled it accordingly.

firstly congrats on your visa.

secondly, my plan is to take the kids for a10day holiday.3 kids. we have land documents and 3 car documents, letter from children school,virgin passports though husband has U.S visa, letter of introduction from my place of work.
my own bank statement is just about 400k. i am not spending my own money because husband is paying for everything and he is not applying with us.
my fear is, wont my own account balance affect our application? or do i tell husband to transfer all the needed funds to my account before we print the statement?

@mummyf: you husband can write a letter to say he is sponsoring the trip. All he may need aside his bank statement of course will be a copy of his passport data page. He also has to write a consent letter saying he is in support of the kids travelling with you alone. That one isvery important.

You may also include your bank statement just as a prove of your financial stability. Virgin passport or not, if you satisfy all requirement I am sure you guys will get the visas approved.
