Its simple actually. In general terms they are more or less the same but technically as betting is concerned giving 0.75 handicap is a way of increasing/decreasing the odds(as the case may be) for 0.5 handicap. For example you are so confident that Atl Madrid would beat Rostov by @least a goal margin so u subtract 0.5 from Madrid's anticipated win. [s]Now as Madrid won 2 -1, the -0.5 handicap for Madrid means the final score is 1.5 - 1 which is still a win. Going a step further and giving Madrid -0.75 handicap instead of the previous -0.5 means you are taking a bigger risk by subtracting a higher value and so you get larger odds for taking a bigger risk. Of course the final result becomes 1.25 - 1 which is still a win and that's why generally speaking 0.5 and 0.75 are the same. [/s]Its a way of rewarding smart punters. So if your bookie has the market you should use it to ur own advantage.
