Another lie. They promised to increase Corpers allowances to #50,000, we are still waiting. They promised to pay graduates #5,000 monthly we are still waiting. Now this one, we would wait until we lose weight. Sorry for those who believe this. |

bigtt76:Lol. I think that since May 29th 2015, Nigerians may have woken up in an alternate universe, where everything, every known law of economic management seem to be upside down. For example, after winning a historic election, the newly elected leader, rather than attempt to unify the country, opted to divide the country into 95 percenters and 5 presenters. Rather than quickly assemble a team to hit the ground running from day one, he runs a sole administration for 5 months without ministers. Rather than present a budget that encapsulates his economic vision, he presents a copy and paste, inflate and pad budget that actually encapsulates his LACK of VISION. And for first time perhaps in modern history, we see a government almost double it's budget at a time when it's primary source of revenue is down 70℅. If that was Not pure Voodoo, I don't know what is. He talks diversification while the information ministry gets a budget bigger than agriculture and labour ministries combined. He shops for loans to fund the budget while still promising welfare payments to 1 million ghost people. The finance minister tells us that the budget cannot be fully implemented, and then the next day, the government goes to the Parliament for a supplementary Budget. We hear that budget is being successfully implemented, but NOT a single CAPITAL project has taken off. Rather than prune the civil service for efficiency and more productivity, the government is promising to hire hundreds of thousands of more civil servants, while still shopping for loans. After announcing that they are shopping for a record- setting $30b loan, with no economic blueprint attached, this government is announcing a planned increase in workers salaries. ![]() Basically , this government is mortgaging the future generations of Nigerians just to do political PATCH PATCH jobs of today. What a monumental tragedy. ![]() I wish this 1and half year trip to the Alternate Reality is just a bad dream that we can all happily wake up from soon. |

First you want to get a $30bn loan (which is yet to be approved by the senate) then you want to increase the minimum wage. I don't understand this government and all their audio promises. Buhari probably has some magical plan we are not privy to. |
| Re: Buhari Set To Increase Workers' Salaries - Daily Times by seguno2: 2:54pm On Nov 02, 2016 |
It is meaningless if he does not reduce the jumbo salaries of our political office holders. It will be an exercise in futility to increase salaries of workers without reducing the salaries of the president, governors, LGA Chairmen and legislators/councillors. |

Anything more than 27k is an economic error. 56k will just ground Nigeria in 2 months. |

DropShot:Your talking about increasing salaries in am economic crunch and you have gull to call someone illiterate. Why don't you go open up and economic textbook son. The people that liked your uneducated post prove none of you took an economic class. Government can effect economy by fiscal policy through tax policy, purchasin goods and services or transer payments. Then monetarily with adjusting interest rates, or supply of money. Increasing salaries doesn't help general economy because they have to tax or borrow to pay workers. Transfer payments doesn't include government worker salaries for a reason. Second raising minimum wage arbitrarily does have an effect on emoloyment. Go see you micro economic text book. |

| Re: Buhari Set To Increase Workers' Salaries - Daily Times by Blue3k(m): 5:32pm On Nov 02, 2016 |
gurunlocker:How's he supposed to know that if he doesn't understand monetary or fiscal policy? Improving wage increases during cash crunch makes sense to him. |
