Have you taken her to see a doctor? You should have seen one around the time it first appeared before spreading this much(it usually starts small) An appropriate antibiotic will clear it in days please see your doctor.
Thanks. We were at the hospital for something else 2 weeks ago and I showed it to her Paed. He didn't say much but he prescribed some drugs ( antibiotic included) but still no change. When it first appeared sabresten was prescribed which we used. It cleared but not totally and came back. Thanks once again.

For me, I think you should stop applying things on it for now and watch for like 3-5 days. Stop the Johnson soap as well, if you are a Yoruba, kindly go to those elewe omo in the market, those elderly women know what can be use to bathe baby and the skin will be back to normal.

I have stopped applying things on it but still bath her with Johnson soap. Would stop the soap like you suggested. Am not yoruba but my sis suggested we go to the women selling herbs at the market. Thanks.

Of course, not to drink but to bathe her.

She was sourced by my DH through our former house cleaner baba (they claim they are family friends but they have same surname....so I'm guessing she's his daughter)

1...What's the age range of the nanny......she's 27 (lied to my DH she was 25 but saw her real age when I asked to see her ID)
2..what is the pay range.....Her 2 previous employers were expatriates and she was paid 40k. So that's what we pay her
3..Are they live in or non live in....started off as non live in but she always showed up hours late with excuses so we had to make her live in
3a. If none live in, what is their work time?
3b. If live in, how many days off do they get in a Month?....We are still debating this one. Cos there are modalities involved.I work in a different state than I live, so when I'm at work even if she gets a day off

I should have asked, what are your deal breakers and things

Abeg am I being too unrealistic? Is it not possible to get someone with a fairly average IQ that wouldn't turn me to a parrot?

Thanks , I'd have to buy her a cream cos she bleaches.

Truly with this maid thing one can only pray/hope to be blessed with a reasonable one! Like someone said its not necessarily the pay that motivates them to be of good service! Some earn far less than yours and are really professional.

I'd say go with your instincts if you're this uncomfortable* after month one discharge her and move on! They typically would become worse as opposed to better behaved.

I also find that when they're idle it leaves room for more of their shitty behavior so even if na to pick beans or shell egusi ensure they're as occupied as possible.

Always have Creche as back up plans and don't be afraid to let any nanny/maid exit.

Good luck

n.b - the IQ is another matter entirely.... I agree with your hubby lower your expectations as per basic stuff! There can be some really dull ones just accept their brains as they are! Na so we see am for this part of the world

Good day to all the mums on this thread. I salute the mums that are keeping this thread alive.
Please mamas, who has experienced this on their LO and what did you use to clear it. My baby is 3 months old and we have been battling with skin issues since she clocked 2 months. I have use different things to try to clear it but non is working instead it leaves her skin dry and flaky We use Johnson soap and vaseline for now. I have searched for dove pure and sensitive soap in festac where I stay but can't seem to find it. Please what can I use to clear this. I am just not happy, please come to my aid. Mama Alphahandmaiden, helovesme, onegai and all mamas. Pic is attached. Thanks.

Since you are in Festac, can I send you to a Dermatologist there? Because baby tribotan and all those creams are anti-fungal creams and unless you use them for exactly what they are supposed to treat, it will clear it but thin the skin and everytime baby has a wound as a child, it won't heal as fast and gets infected easier. Same with girls who bleach (yeah, antifungal creams thin the skin and eventually gets absorbed in significant doses over the years, same as most bleaching agents). A lot of Drs don't tell parents this but they see it very often. And if anyone comes to the island, just go to Mega Plaza and get Dove from there. It's upto you sha.

Same thing happened to my DD, changed her disinfectant from savlon to dettol, tried everything to maintain proper hygiene, used sudocrem & antibiotics given to her by her pead. When it cleared we switched to ori & pkoil

I use savlon because my DS reacted to Dettol when he was an infant so I decided to continue with savlon with DD. I only use sudocrem when I want to change her diaper. I maintain proper hygiene also. Thanks for your response.

Mine started with bottle too because of the same issue as yours and continued to put him to breast. Now, he is pro.
So don't give up. Just continue putting her to breast she will come around. Also, try to put pillow on ur lap and place her on it while breasting. This will bring her closer to the breast and more comfortable for both of u.

My dd started that way too and also refused to nurse. I kept putting her to my breast; she would scream and reject it and it used to break my heart. I continued and five days ago she just opened her mouth and latched on as if to say 'this woman your own don too much. Make I kuku suck the thing so you can lemme rest'.

Keep putting her to the breast and with time she will latch on.

Mothers in the house I have nipple sores and its painful. My mom says it could last for two weeks and that thought is scary. What's the best cure for the sores? I've used coconut oil and I press with hot water and she says my dd's mouth will heal it. But everytime I nurse I see stars and I'm now scared to put my baby to the breast.

She is not latching on well, get the entire areola (dark area of breast) into her mouth. Place it from the bottom first. Get Lasinoh cream or any nipple cream from a pharmacy to apply, just make sure it is edible.
