This is not secured for now. there is a lot of loopholes on it. No provision for pin or password. Anyone can trade with all the money in your account if they get access to your phone or SIM.

There are still issues with the BVN. For an instance, UBA enrolled me on BVN with someone's name and phone number. They managed to correct my name but the phone number is difficult for them to change till this moment. Owner of the phone number can conveniently operate my account with his or her phone number.

Yes l recollect the role the banks played but even now they still are key in the process as there is the requirement for BVN. Truth be told, Nigeria do not have a robust database that has our details as Kenya does. If you borrow money from Mpesa with intention of not repaying and port to Airtelmoney with the intention to start afresh, Airtelmoney has already been flagged about your debt! That Mpesa debt will block one's chance of getting a bank loan because he has been blacklisted by the Credit Reference Bureau even if that Mpesa loan is $1 as al the banks check with the bureau as part of its appraising a customer for a loan.

The funny bit is this is implemented and executed by NIBBS but because CBN regulations does not allow NIBBS to implement such, they had to involve banks.
