I had always wondered why this soldier was not withdrawn and sent abroad for further training after his wonderful performance in his duties at the battle front against Boko Haram.

In the wisdom of the army, they should have known that he would definitely have stepped on, not only the Boko boys toes, but on "internal" toes in the course of the age long battle followed by his accelerated promotion.

They should have made better use of this soldier's gallantry if they took the right steps than allowing him to be wasted in that manner.

God bless you Babeface3. That was exactly what I wrote on my Facebook page, blaming the military authorities for his death. Somebody from some where who doesn't know a thing about the military accused me of conveying wrong information. After accomplishing so much against the insurgency, what was he still doing in the war-fronts? Without him there, will heaven fall? Now that he's dead, is his position going to remain vacant?

I don't know where we got this mentality from? If they send you on an assignment and you bring good results, they'll continue to use you until you gas-out. It shouldn't be.

In other Armies that would be norm but he was left in the field battle fatigued alway moving from one battle theatre to to the other as if he was the only Armoured corps officer the Army had

It's plausible some top military guys had a hand in his assassination.
May they be revealed sooner than later if that's the case.

Is it not wrong to bring ethnic coloration into this?

Was the fact he was a middle belter not known to the authority when he was promoted?

Better. His death is a painful loss to the nation. Let us hope the army will not only take care of the family he left behind but also that he is immortalized.
