Irked by the level of set backs experienced by the fire service in recent past , and the attendant incidents of fire outbreaks across the state coupled by his excellency's readiness in repositioning the fire service ,the
rescue mission government under the enviable leadership of his excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha approved the immediate restructuring of the fire services in the state.

Governor Okorocha gave this approval during one of his unscheduled visit to the Owerri zonal commandant of the fire service. He added that plans are underway for a befitting office complex and for the procurement of a new fire saving equipment to replace obsolete and moribund ones.

His excellency assured that he would extend this good gesture to the 3 zonal offices of the fire service.

True to his type, the governor in fulfilment of his promises and approvals has completed an ultra -modern fire station

The brand new Fire station located in between the Owerri Prisons and Government College on Okigwe road is another architectural masterpiece to behold. The site contractor Engr Amos Akano who took the #REDISCORVERIMO team on facility tour of the Fire service headquarters disclosed that most of the equipment in the complex are of high quality with modern vehicles, bore hole water facility, conference hall, staff offices, communication room and gadgets.
