Arsenal failed in £80m bid for Auba
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the most wanted players in football and it appears the Gabonese has another admirer with Corriere dello Sport reporting Arsenal failed with a mega-bid last summer.

The Gunners tabled an £80 million offer for the Borussia Dortmund sensation, who has struck 14 goals in 14 games this season.

The Rome-based publication also reveals Napoli were interested in the 27-year-old, but the Bundesliga club also vehemently rejected any talks for their prized asset.

Meanwhile, Hector Bellerin has ended speculation that he could join Pep Guardiola's revolution at Manchester City or return home to Barcelona with the Mirror reporting the 21-year-old has signed a six-year contract extension.

The Spanish right-back will pen terms of £100,000 per week, meaning his new deal is worth more than £30m.

Bellerin has been a sensation since breaking into the Gunners' first team and has quickly become a member of the senior Spanish national team.

Arsene Wenger believes he has the right-back of the future and hopes Bellerin will be followed by Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in committing their futures to the Emirates.

A playmaker is who the coach chooses to build his team around. So every team should have one unless you have Dumb and Dumber as coach.

What is wrong with my explanation? Unless you are just meeting up your stupidity quota.

How can you pay £100m and say you got no playmaker? Saying no world class is even a crime. sad

Can't we have an intelligent discourse about Arsenal here ...instead of this boys trying to display their average literature skills....

Who takes over the Sanchez role, now that he may be out? I think iwobi needs to step up a notch and Sanchez may not be sorely mised...either as a winger or a striker ....

Iwobi of late has been very average. If Sanchez doesn't recover quick, we would lose a very huge part of our attacking strength. It should have been an opportunity for Ox to step up but I don't know. He is even worse.

Yes it's truth ... But like wenger said which I also believe " he's got it all in his locker" ..i.e. he can actually do big things if only he believes in himself

Ox has gotten more than 6 or so years to prove his worth...no other top club can offer him this chance . I doubt he'll ever sour to his potential definitely not this season.

U know these days teams big teams don't always play with a natural 9... I'd go with Ramsey and Walcott on the wings...iwobi foward... Even if he doesn't score his pace and strength can weary defenders before we opt for giroud. This would have the perfect time for Lucas unfortunately.

You have got to be kidding me with that sort of formation, lolz. We will be quite unable to score as Iwobi doesn't have pace as seen in the last few matches. He should have pressed more from the front against Tottenham but was always late to the party, not that he has any defensive onus in him.
If it wasn't for the fact that Chamberlain himself is useless, he should have been on the bench the past few matches.

.... He will start two Sundays from now baring no injuries with Walcott alongside him. I reckon both Sanchez and Bellerin will be back before then and if not Jenkinson and Giroud to start. Ozil is resting now and I only pray that Cazorla gets back too. If all goes well, we should defeat Man United..

No kidding man...yea iwobi has been a shadow of himself of late but he has pace..

Last time we beat Man U last season in the league it was down to I think Sanchez Monreal and Coqlin not giving DePay breathing space infant it was after that match vangal started benching him... Ie we totally changed tactics that day.

Wenger needs to find their most potent man and guard him..for their mostly an average lot and we can harm them on the counter

Playing without a 9? None of our MF are good at goal. We need at least 1 player who can score. If not na fruitless effort. Possession without progression.

Shame on you. So your team is so useless that you witch other clubs with injuries to manage to compete.

Bring Pogba and Rashford, we go give una Niles and Akpom and still disgrace una.

But your folks celebrated the absence of Ibra, others highlighted the injury to Bailly...We're still on equal footing when you take into consideration the Injury to Val, the struggles of Smalling and Shaw etc..

Mou knows that Wenger won't compromise his will to play possesion and attack despite it has hurt him several times, even with a less quality side. I think he should just do the opposite and let Mou attack. A draw would be the last thing in Mou's wishes,
