Just kind of confused on the roles of NSCDC. If it includes being orderly to the owner of the school in Nigeria, as a Driver, Security clutching an FN Rifle and sorts.
Pls security analysts and personnel pls clarify me on this.

One major mandatory function of NSCDC is to protect critical infrastructure of the Federal Republic and schools are such assets.

Is the Nigerian Police authorised to do such? If your answer is in the affirmative then why should the civil defense not do it. As far as I know their job is to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians and the private institutions are Nigerians property and Nigerian lives are there. Moreover you wouldn't have asked this question if it was the police you saw guiding them.

I appreciate your objective response but what prompted the question was the Institution was previously guarded by plain clothes Police men but was replaced by NSCDC and hence the question.

Thanks anyway!!!
