Now u are talking about politiking. D OP's question was who is more powerful. The senate President is the head of a separate arm of government, An arm that on its own represents democracy as an institution & that is the reason why once the military take over they will pull down that structure called Legislature. On the other hand the Vice president is only a lieutenant. An assistant that u can hear more when the president is not on seat or perform some function at the instance of the president. 90% of the Vice President's functions he will report to the President while the Senate President does not need to report to any other person not even to the President. Also it is not always that a President dies in power so that will not be used in this analysis to know who has a greater power. If u want to be objective u will find other reasons to believe that the senate president is more powerful than the Vice president just like the speaker is more powerful than the deputy senate president... Atiku left his election as Governor of Adamawa in 1999 to become a Vice President.

Goodluck Jonathan left his seat as a Governor to become Vice President.

Namadi Sambo left his seat as Governor of to become Vice President.

The 3 of them never completed their terms as Governor before jumping at the seat of VP. They know how important and relevant it is.

The VP wields power it's just that most times they act behind the scene.

Bro think twice. Even State governors that are God father's to House of Assembly speakers are fighting for the seat of Vice president. The likes of Atiku, Jonathan and Sambo left their governorship to jump at the seat of VP. So can you see how important the Vp seat is if incumbent Governors can forfeit it to become VP.

You got it wrong. The Senate President is just first among equals and he answers to the other 108 senators. And they can remove him in the blink of an eye if he fumbles. Senators can decide to remove their SP in just 1hour if they don't like him anymore

But the VP answers to the President and the President cannot remove him from office. It's hard to remove the Vp. It takes many steps and can only be done by 2/3 of both the Senate and House of Reps. And that's only if the committee created by the Chief Justice of the Federation finds him guilty of the offense raised against him. If not chikena 4yrs go complete
