The big bang is a scientific theory that tries to explain the origin of the universe. It is the most reliable among the various theories of origin of the universe.
But there are some argument that occur before these theory was accepted.

Albert Einstein, a renowned theoretical physicist and others propose that the universe is static. Einstein even forged equations to prove the universe has no beginning (probably he was afraid that if the universe was said to have a beginning then the existence of God may be proven). But few years later enough evidence shows that the universe was expanding. Einstein later called this the biggest blunder of his life.
The main problem of the Big Bang Theory is the formation of matter from nothing. If there was no matter from the beginning then how did matter emerged after the big bang. There is no scientific theory to explain the existence of matter from nothing. Many creationist believe this to be evidence for God (but to me it's still inconclusive)

My problem with threads like this isn't actually the nature of the question. It's intellectually healthy to question ideas, but my issue with threads like this, is the reason behind this questioning.

99% of these kinds of threads are created by religious apologetics and they do it to try to paint science as inaccurate because they believe that science has waged a war against their religious beliefs. And this is not true. A scientist doesn't begin to formulate a scientific theory because he wants to disprove the existence of God. Many physicists are religious, but they still accept the big bang as true.

Now, just to bring to notice a huge hole in the op's question and a hole that is present in the intuitions of every christian that doesn't agree with the big bang;
You see, these individuals don't believe that our universe originated from noting, but they believe God spoke it into existence. Isn't that also a case of the universe emerging from nothing? If I stay in my room and say a few words, and a cake appears, where does that cake come from? Nothing or something?

The problem with threads like this is that if everyone in the world opposed scientific progress just because they feel it contradicts their age old religious books, we would not move forward as a specie. We would not have made the scientific, medical and technological progress we have made.

The difference between scientists and religious apologetics is that scientists ask questions and try to provide answers to those questions, and are willing to change those answers in light of new convincing evidence, but religious apologetics, feel their 2000BCE book already has all the answers they need.

And you actually believe that the "God" that initiated the creation of the universe is actually the Jewish God? Really?

Am not trying to paint science in bad light nor prove Creationism. I'm only questioning the theory. It is true that scientists cannot explain the existence of matter from nothing.

Quran and Big Bang Theory

“Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes; and He is the Knowing Creator. His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” (Quran 36:81-82)

“Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, then We separated them, and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?” (Quran 21:30)
