I don't pity any of the sacked workers one bit.

Why?

Individuals now use the Union to rob other workers and gain political power to further rob the establishment.

I work with a tertiary institution where union leaders plotted with one senior staff to displace the current chief executive. This they did by deceiving fellow staff, declaring strike and sending petitions to ICPC that the Chief Executive is corrupt and should be investigated and jailed.

In the end, the man was exonerated of all allegations and Union activities was suspended on campus.

I asked one of the leaders why they sent the man to ICPC. Their answer will shock you.

"WE JUST WANT HIM TO HAVE A RECORD WITH ICPC! "

That's the evil people are perpetrating in the name of Union.

I wonder what those three doctors and health workers must have done to be fired, health workers in university are usually not involved in protests as such
according to the details revealed on sweet fm, some people were invited while calls were also made to people of interest, the vc was accused of gross misconduct while some were financial in nature, a letter was sent to the governing council but nothing was done, then they reported to the efcc, so they said it never followed due process and thereafter accuse them of stealing, insubordination, access to confidential info, etc, heard the vc is a G.O of a church, so he uses his post to give out jobs to his members and things like that. some met with alake probably on his invitation, he summoned them on who gave them such authority to do so, that it was an igbo man that told him that what he did wasnt a query to the ssanu but on the king. so many things was revealed, a man was invited, probably the mediator btw both parties in school, but he couldnt hide his condemnation of the vc even if not direct.
omofunaab, hope you remembered what i said concerning your resumption when it was announced?
i might not be a student of any school, but i do have verified info from most schools in nigeria, sw especially.

Yes, actually am no more a student of the school but i do get information on a regular basis.

And you are right about what you said

The VC has derailed , his alliance with sen ogunlewe, a pdp politician was the beginning of his downfall.

Imagine the Vc was residing inside the VC'S lodge yet he was collecting 23 million naira as rent.

You can't fight with administrative workers, these people have access to incriminating documents ,financial documents etc.
That was why they were able to send a petition to the Efcc,

Most of the workers sacked were from the bursary

I don't know where he got his source from.I graduated from funaab 2014 and all through my 5yrs in funaab , not once did any lecturer sell any handouts the lecture notes are readily available for download on the school website.

Its just a shame to ear what they've turned Funaab to , strike here and there , protests all the time

So you have the VC on one hand and Ogunlewe on the other hand. What are the Union leaders doing between such dangerous crossfire?

Unions would say authority is corrupt. Yet, they won't remit deductions to their National bodies and will corruptly enrich themselves through the acquisition of group loans from banks.

My point is, if you look deeply into the genesis of the crisis, union corruption will feature prominently in it.

ogunlewe and the vc are of the same side not on diff side, i get what you mean bro, i dont appreciate any union in this nation for anything, including the professionals, they are of no use imo, however on the issue at hand, it wasnt started by the union according to reports, it was started by very few individuals(less or equals five) the union only took over when the governing council was trying to victimize them, the case is similar to that of unn where a prof was accused of using forged certifications and the whistleblower was victimised till senate or ministry intervened

I think there is a need for adequate research before decisions are formed. That you had an experience with some people should not form your opinion about others as doing that may not just be unfair but also prejudicial.

The crisis in Funaab started last year between the VC and SSAANU. All indicators shows that Prof. Oyewole is the architect of his own problems. Why will a man collect #24million as rent on a mansion built by the school? Why would a man be collecting allowances of about #500,000 monthly? Why would a man allocate #3m for himself as Marriage allowance?

Prof. Oyewole failed to employ applicants who applied for jobs in the School but conveniently employed his son and son-in-law. He approved funds ranging into #34m for a single contract which is way ahead of his approval limit.

I may not have been more concerned if he isn't a professed Christian and a General overseer of a Church. What a Pity!

The dismissal of the 23 Labour leaders in FUNAAB cannot stand. If Amosun could change his stand over sacked workers in Ogun, then this will also pass. Rather than do this, he should address issues raised in the petition to the EFCC. No amount of intimidation will exonerate him from his crimes. At the moment, every member of the FUNAAB community is against Prof. Oyewole except for some few who eat crumbs at his table and his church members who worship at his feet.

So elengee pls don't make certain conclusions until you have all the facts.

#shalom

Please edit the topic. The people sacked are not lecturers. Lecturers are not members of SSANU.

Let me state that I was trying to be politically correct. I am certain of a couple Federal Universities in the East and South South where students are 'advised' to buy materials.

And I can remember a few of my friends in OAU back in the early 2000s had materials they were 'recommended' to buy.

Were those books compulsory and devoid of penance? Well. . .

MR pls always comment about what u know not what you think and mind you no one sell handout in funaab the only problem the school have is the vc
are you sure that he is the calamity that befall the school ? Mr Oyewole is the founder of a church in Eleweran Abeokuta (Divine Height Bible Church ). It is a church where most of the lecturers in Abeokuta attend. He is a leader and a nice man but a discipline man.

Being a pastor does not mean you can be good @ managing such institution! Being a vc of a school closer to a church overseed by you fuels controversies! There r descicion he'd make dt'd counter his stand as a pastor! If you truly finished from funaab you wnt say such! Electricity dropped, lecturers harassing students, less sucurity for student, beauty of d school gone to mention a few...compare all these to baloguns regime...
