A mechanic poured Total classic sae 40 in my 99 CRV, since then there seem to be little oil shortage after sometimes and the car now smokes a bit unlike before, even when I've changed to total quartz. Any advice? The engine works fine but shakes when Ac is turned high. no engine light on.
There is suggestion of verve adjustment for this model

We later got the sensor from the exact model and fixed it, after about 20km the check engine light was on with only...
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold
whenever i remove the battery + cable for few seconds the check engine will disappear but it will illuminate again after 25km. I observed that the it

New air filter, new ngk Spark plugs and injector are in good condition.
Pls help your brother, am morethan 700km away from nairaland professionals mechanics otherwise i could have contact them

NB:

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by fabiomatic(m): 4:42pm On Nov 10, 2016
do u have an idea of how much it would cost to change a compressor's seal?
luvinhubby:
18k or more depending on the grade.
Before replacing the compressor, try changing the seal, you may not need a replacement that way.

Good day all. Gazzuzz or any other with similar experience, please what is ur advice on an 03 Honda Accord that consumes a lot of oil. The car doesn't smoke at all, nor is there any sign of oil leak, I've checked properly. Engine is still very neat at 84k on the odometer, car is barely 2 months.

What specification of engine oil do you use?

I use the mobile super XHP 20w50. It has consumed 2 gallons, within a space of close to two months, and I don't use the car all the time.

. . . i believe what he is trying to say is that it's nearly impossible to 'find' a 2003 Honda Accord with 84k Original mileage. Your vehicle mileage must have been rolled-back

If he has consumed 2 gallons of 20w-50 in 2months of light use, switching to 5w-20 will be deadly!

Most likely theres a leak some where or engine is worn. Best advice maybe to continue 20w-50

Gurus please help a brother out @ Gazzuzz, kingreign.. I noticed a small leak at these areas of the engine, it extends to the metal part of the O2 sensor should I be concerned?.

2. What can I do to stop the leak? there's no malfunction code, I've not had to top up oil since I noticed the leak and the car drives well.

3. I've used MOBIL XHP for maintenance twice prior to that I've maintained LUBEX OIL could it be the change in oil grade?

Accord 03 V6

A scan first, O2 sensors probable culprits.
