OPEC is tearing apart and at the root a long drawn sectarian strife between Sunnis (Saudi Arabia) and Shias (Iran) appears to be the core. Everyone expects OPEC to cut productions in light of an impending oil glut. The main problem within OPEC is who is expected to make cuts. The Saudis are refusing to make any cut from their over 10million bpd output but have rather demanded that Iran with a daily output of just under 3.5million bpd bear the brunt by cutting their output by at least 1 million bpd. Now comparing Iran with a population of 150million and reserves just under $50bn to the Saudis having a third of Iran's population with ten times external reserves and a daily output 3 times that of Iran, if any member of OPEC is expected to make cuts it ought to be the Saudis. But we have witnessed such antics by the Saudis in the early 70's and mid 80's where they flooded the market to hurt the Iranian economy. The last OPEC meeting in Algiers was a shouting match between the Saudis and Iranians on who to make cuts with the Saudi delegation storming out vowing to increase production to a Whooping 12 million bpd which will most likely see crude prices crashing below the $40 mark. Just yesterday, Nigeria announced its decision to skip the next OPEC meeting slated for Nov 17 and 18 in Doha. Nigerian's minister of state for Petroleum, Emmanuel Kachikwu has notified OPEC of Nigeria skipping the Doha summit. What this means is that Nigeria which has since become a Saudi vassal under the Buhari administration will not oppose any rise in production between Iran and Saudi Arabia which definitely will see an additional 2 million barrels pumped into the over bloated market. Definitely this is a case of the Buhari administration meddling into a distant sectarian squabble in the middle east and putting not only our already eroded diplomatic currency on the line but our economy as well. It appears buhari is willing to sacrifice what is left with our weakened economy for a foolish sectarian conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia. |

If this is true, which likely is true because there has been a spike in shites being killed by buhari.... Then we realistically conclude that Dr. Goodluck was a stronger leader than fake General Buhari. Gej went against US and many western country's policies on gay law and israeli-Palestine issue. Pmb is just being a stooge to saudi to the detriment of our country anf its finances |

hotspec:This is the problem with this lazy generation. This is OC as in original content. Kachikwu has been ordered not to attend the next OPEC meeting. Every other fact I posted such as the Algiers brawl between the Saudis and Iranians is verifiable with a simple Google search. |

drss2:I see him ushering Uthman Don Fodio's warning on his deathbed to his children that a day will arise that they (fulanis) will be kick out from Nigeria. This is the fear of all fulanis and okar coup announcement served them a hot reminder. As things are going with Buhari's gross incompetence, Bigotry, hypocrisy and protection of both boko haram and fulani m plus the Shia proxy war he ha opened in Northern Nigeria, it is obvious that buhari will b disgraced from Aso Rock |

drss2:Buhari is a curse plaguing Nigeria. He is so dull and incompetent to know that Iran can destroy not just his useless government but the country itself by arming the shittes, supporting the secessionists and also supplying the millitants with vital equipments to wreck more havoc!! I DONT SEE HOW NIGERIA WILL SURVIVE BUHARI'S REGIME INTACT. |

I think buhari should just give in and rest.. Let the v.p take over.. Seriously if after two years and we have not gotten a head way, when then do we get the head way and what time is left to implement the possible solutions.. Its obvious a lot of people and technocrats either dont work with buhari or buhari does not want to work with them, but either ways, how long do we hope to continue in this quagmire.. Rather than kill the party with misrule like the pdp, its best to give in when the ovation is high.. |

timeboss:Found out in what way? The OPEC summit slated for today has Nigeria absent. And that has to do with Buhari siding with the Saudis at the detriment of oil pricing which he desperately needs to remain above $40. I don't know where you "found me out". First you threatened me on this thread and now you are calling me a liar? I laff at your desperate job of defending this useless disgrace of a govt |
