Met a dude recently who told me it's possible to download the entire content of a website for offline use. This will be very helpful especially with tutorial based sites. I need answers regarding the application(s) that can be used for this. I understand it can only be done on pc.

A 3 year old would do that and i would have to open every page in this case. I'm actually talking about downloading everything on the website such that links from the homepage would work offline.

What I have been using for some years now, find any browser that can save a page to mht format and you are good to go.

One mobile only UC browser does that
On PC, get any old version of Opera browser not greater than version 12 and install, those old opera do save complete webpage including pix and links to a single file which can be opened by any browser

There is a firefox extension called Scrapbook that can save an entire website including links to other pages. To target some other form of data, you can try import.io ¤¤¤ You can also try FREE DOWNLOAD MANAGER.

The only apps that I know that can do what you want is Httrack as earlier mentioned and IDM site grabber.

I used then when I was still learning programming to clone sites especially w3schools.com but they became useless as I advanced.

So I advise you not to go that root buy or get free PDF tutorials. tutorialspoint.com is best for this but for beginners.

But if you seek to save a web page, you can use ctrl+s and save entire page separately or in one file.

Or you can use PDF printers/saver. Google chrome have one likewise UC browser PC version which is built on top chrome.

You can even save complete web pages in android using chrome or downloading UC browser for android and Web PDF which is a UC browser plugin (Note: UC browser not UC mini)

If you are a linux user wget will get the work done for you. Personally, that is what I use If i need to.

PS: There is nothing wrong in wanting a web page offline (Pro or Newbie ) I often having to make software documentations (mostly Java Docs) available for offline use....

See below for options and their meanings as gotten from www.linuxjournal.com/content/downloading-entire-web-site-wget
$ wget \
--recursive \
--no-clobber \
--page-requisites \
--html-extension \
--convert-links \
--restrict-file-names=windows \
--domains website.org \
--no-parent \
www.website.org/tutorials/html/

The options are:

--recursive: download the entire Web site.

--domains website.org: don't follow links outside website.org.

--no-parent: don't follow links outside the directory tutorials/html/.

--page-requisites: get all the elements that compose the page (images, CSS and so on).

--html-extension: save files with the .html extension.

--convert-links: convert links so that they work locally, off-line.

--restrict-file-names=windows: modify filenames so that they will work in Windows as well.

--no-clobber: don't overwrite any existing files (used in case the download is interrupted and
resumed).
