The solemnity of our lord Jesus Christ the king Sunday, It celebrate the widely inclusive power of Christ as Ruler and Master of the universe.

Authoritatively called the feast of Our Master Jesus Christ the Lord also known as (Feast of Corpus Christi) was founded by Pope Puis XI in 1925 during a time when respect for Christ and the Church was waning, when the feast was needed most.

Pius hoped the institution of the feast would have various effects. They were:
1. That nations would see that the Church has the right to freedom, and immunity from the state ( Quas Primas , 32).

2. That leaders and nations would see that they are bound to give respect to Christ ( Quas Primas , 31).

3. That the faithful would gain strength and courage from the celebration of the feast, as we are reminded that Christ must reign in our hearts, minds, wills, and bodies ( Quas Primas , 33).

Today, the same distrust of authority exists, although the problem has gotten worse. Individualism has been embraced to such an extreme, that for many, the only authority is the individual self.

Feast of Corpus Christi is celebrated on the last Sunday of ordinary Time according to Catholic believe, the Sunday before Advent
In 2016, the feast falls on November 20th which is the closure of the jublie year of mercy.

As a catholic I give my self one week preparing for the feast and proccesion.. what about?

How Africans believed in a simple colonization tool of the West that told them that a man in the Middle-East died for the sins of the whole world(Asia, Africa, America e.t.c) grin grin grin still Marvels my sanity.

It's simply just logical and easy to decode the gimmick. Majority past 90% only happen to have inherited religion, very few found it and none of the few re Christians or Muslims

Please dont talk any how. If you are not a catholic or you dont believe in what the church teaches, then walk away. This thread shouldnt be your business

But let me just say that those who criticized catholics for serving communion in church are they themselves doing the same thing today, they also sing hymns and kneel at the altar!

When muslims or other religion are referring to christianity, they are actually referring to the mother church that is universal and that has withstood criticisms and hate for more than 2000 years!

I just love the unity and oneness of the catholic church, across d world they use one calender, all d parishes, cathedrals and basilicas in d world follow D same Bible readings every day, there is no diff. The Catholic Church as an institution has seen thru alot of turbulent times, it has been rocked with scandals, it withstood the times of Christian persecutions, it even had it's own dark times, having it's own fair share of bad popes, it even had a time it was d persecutor, killing anyone and attacking communities who refuse to accept Jesus, calling them infidels... It has outlived two World Wars and still stood strong...Even it's ancient traditions and believes are still preserved and not affected by an evolving modern world.

Christ said to Peter "upon this rock I'll build my church and the gate of hell shall not prevail over it..................its on this basis I know why the church remains one of the institutions Tht have seen all these and gone thru all these centuries and yet still stands and it's still growing.

Jesus Christ the king of the world

I cannot close my mouth and refuse to say the truth.

The Catholic church has substituted the commandments of men for those of GOD; the same thing Jesus strongly condemned in Matt. 15:9.

Yes I agree that the Catholic church is the mother church. It is the Mother of Harlots of Rev. 17:5.

I tire for them o!

Jesus (a Jew) came to save me (Nigerian)
and he died for me?

Na, he died for his mistakes and joblessness.
A 30 year old man who walked into weddings and turned water to wine.. If na them, them go drink?

A 30 year old man who walked around with 12 men, just making noise up and dan the village, even spoiling market one day?

Im village people tire for the matter, carry the guy man hang for cross, them say na my sins im die for? Laff wan kill me

Take a look at a map. we're in a small country off the coast of West Africa. They should try to locate Israel on that map and estimate the distance between us and Israel. Think about the number of cultures, governments, people, histories and stories that they'd journey through if they were to trek to Israel by foot. So someone who was killed in one small village there was dying for their sins? I pity them

They have an African body but a foreign mind. Their God resides in Israel, likes Mount Horeb and they fervently wait and hope for a new Jerusalem.

Are they African in skin or thought? The Bible they believe in wasn't written by them, for them or to them. If it were, romans 2:9 would be igbo 2:9, 1 Corinthians would be 1 Yoruba...

their mind has been so polluted that they see the crucifixion of a mere carpenter in the cross as salvation for their misdemeanors. The one who proudly professes to be a Gentile, who denies their own history and people so he may suck at the bosom of Abraham?.

shame!!!
