– in line with financial regulations. I think they are victims of bureaucratic trap, but ignorance is no excuse in law.Hahaha, this is what they use on people, it's their turn. Tie them all on tanks and give each 12 bullets by firing squad. Believe me, we all will have a clean judiciary. Their blood will be used to clean the mess. |

So a supreme Court Justice earns 750k a month. That's about $22k a year. Meanwhile American Supreme Court justices earn more than 240k a year. Before some will say it's America, Ghana pays 213k per year. Poverty Breeds Corruption. |

Shame to the reporter Yusuf Alli and his medium. He is supposed to be a veteran journalist yet he subscribed to this hachet job. What a shame. Greater shame to his Editor. They set out to paint the entire Judiciary as corrupt n justify Buhari's illegal n unconstitutional clampdown on that independent arm of govt. Truth is Buhari and the Executive and the DSS have absolutely no right under the Constitution to oversee the Judiciary. That job belongs to the NJC and the National Assembly playing its oversight role. Time has come to rein in Buhari n the DSS. |

NgcoboP:Soo why the complain on the news of discovery of how they are looted. The journalist are just doing their job its not the government that is spreading the news. As for me am still glad we have Buhari at this moment of this country, the other man would have driven us into recession with people wondering how we end up in the pit cos their would be no recovery or so ever from his gang of economic killers. |

The executives has security votes. The legislature has power to vote themselves any amount. These payments to the Judiciary is their own security vote. If the economy and the country work then will can deal with how we arrived at this level of corruption. How and where did Buhari got money to run his election? Please don't do one sided story. |

Such a useless president and DSS we have, why are they exposing the salaries of judges here? Is the judiciary not supposed to be independent? When you attain such height in your career are you expected to earn chicken change as salary? This is just pure wickedness. Let the DSS show us what the president is earning, they should also show us all his allowances especially for the numerous trips he has made since he assumed office. Useless government. They should show us their own salary too, do we have any idea what magu (efcc) earns as salary? They want to distract us Nigerians with judges salaries and allowance, where is the bribe they have been talking about? This money is not even up to what some oil company workers earn in a month. This country is sick! |
| Re: Huge Cash Payments To Justices Uncovered By Detectives (photo) by Mystipetal1: 8:54am On Nov 21, 2016 |
Cajal:You are part of the disease this country is suffering from. If you are working where they will pay you good salary will you reject it? What about the president's allowances or vp and their wives rubbish. What about the National Assembly members or oil company top staff who has been arrested? It is judges that have worked for the most part of their lives and reached such height that you want to arrest, is this salary up to a quarter of what the senate president or speaker or other senators and reps receive? Have you arrested them. Do you have any idea how much the president gets or takes as allowance each time he travels? Why haven't you called for his head |

NgcoboP:I doubt if you actually read through before writing this your nonsense comments. These corrupt payments started since 2009 and you're here blaming Buhari for everything. FOOL!!!! |

The judiciary is meant to be independent the president and the DSS should leave them alone and face the problems of nigeria |

NgcoboP:Then tell this militant to stop blowing up oil facilities and ask the OPEC to return the Barrel of oil to $120. U still dey talk because u are not yet on exile to Ghana, if it were to be UR drunkard we still have as the president by now you would have been refugee in neighbouring Countries, they would have borrowed more than that $29b to window dress the crisis and still loot it as usual. |

Originalsly:This was a norm before he even got into the supreme court. He certainly wouldnt take any blame for it. The presidency wants to sack every justice of supreme court? It seems they all benefited even past cjns. I think if dss has no other case against this man, they should make public appology. It should be recalled that in his letter to the cjn he acknowledged that the money was his paid allowances. |

GoggleB:It started before. Many of us that campaigned for GEJ in 2011 were let down by how corruption took a turn for the worse under GEJ. He had a good chance to address the Oduahgate matter , Deziani head should have rolled a long time ago and Ahmed lawan was not brought to swift justice ; these are all his failings plus his stupid decision to remove fuel subsidy without prior allert on new years day |

Standing5:,, TELL them, before the past administration left the Then, Minister of Finance. NGOZI said Nigeria should beef up for a toucher time (as federal govt. was not able to meet up with expenses then, ask pple in some of the Ministries then. when their 2014 Nov and Dec salary was paid.) and at that time oil was sold above $70 per barrel. Nigerians should brace for tougher economic times ahead, the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has said as crude oil prices slipped to a four year low on Wednesdayyou can check more here (http://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/171145-brace-tougher-times-ahead-okonjo-iweala-tells-nigerians.html). so to say Buhari destroy the economy make one sound like illiterate and an absolute ignorance. The Point here is that GEJ was a good man but gives way for Corruption, that is why Nigeria call Change. and so far if the election is tomorrow, i am still gonna stand with PMB till all these Thief and useless politician learn their lesson. GOD bless Nigeria, GOD bless PMB. #istandwithPMB. not even the APC |

JKisOK:Learn about government properly, every arm of government is independent in it's function only not for personal conduct. When Buhari starts handing out jail terms or sentences or hits the gavel to pass laws in the national assembly is what you can call interference. Ministers and other executive functionaries, even the president is subject to investigation and trial by lawful bodies. If the president is impeached he still has the opportunity to defend himself of the allegations before a properly constituted body. How much more judges. All the Judges need to do is show the Allegations against them are false and trumped up, is that not we all Seek to do before them when accused? Why all the sympathy seeking? |

vigasimple:The problem with many Nigerians above is lack of overiding principles in addressing a matter. It's always Mr A is doing this thing that i agree is bad, and since am yet to get Mr A to stop i will therefore justify Mr C also doing the same bad. Rather than condemn Mr A and Mr C, the wrong thing suddenly becomes acceptable especially if Mr C appears to be at logger heads with Mr A on other matters. Or government sponsors Muslim pilgrims, which is improper in a secular country, rather than stay on principle, many Christian now invented their own pilgrimage to get government sponsor ensuring continuous and increased waste of public funds. |
