Do you know about the european renaissance? Does the "Discourse on the Method" tell you something?

The Europeans had to discard superstition and biased thinking clouded with religious dogma, before they could move forward. Look at any statistical data about the relation between religion and prosperity. it appears very clearly, that exceptions aside, there is a clear inverse relationship between religion and economic development.
