CeoNewshelm:
The Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State AIDS Control Agency, LSACA, Oluseyi Temowo has revealed that of the 616,318 that attended the HIV Counselling and Testing (HCT) awareness programme from January to June, 2016, no fewer than 9,579 people were tested positive to HIV.

Temowo made this revelation at a news conference in Ikeja to mark the 2016 World AIDS Day with the theme: “Hands Up for #HIV Prevention.”

According to Temowo, in 2015, a total number of 599, 560 people were counselled, tested and received results out of which 15, 311 people were found to be victims of the killer disease.

He further added that 52, 803 people living with the scourge were currently on Antiretrovirals (ARVs).

His words, “These statistics simply means that there are many more people who are not aware that they have the virus, that is why knowing one’s status is very important.

“It is a common knowledge that an HIV positive person can be symptom free for 10 years and will continue to infect others, if not checked and treated. Being HIV positive does not translate to death with appropriate medications,” he added.

Nobody is really safe from HIV

You can not use condom all the time and no guaranty that the man or woman in your life won't bring it home for you.

It's just God...but as for me I will never use a condom so its better I pick just one sweet HIV - chic and hope she does not bring it home for me.

This HIV stuff Na hoax . Those who tested positive should not fear anything. In the absence of the drugs, you are 100% not in danger . Hiv is a very harmless virus . HIV is being feared because the big pharma told us it causes AIDS . Aids is just like religion , no proof, and people just believe just because it is very popular .

That's about 1.5% from my calculation, that's progress if you ask me, compare that to 25% in South Africa and other high risk Africa countries. It used to be 3.1% in 2012 so I think awareness is making it die off.
