I will advise you watch closely whenever someone else is bathing your LO. Our mothers do some of these things with good mind_ sometimes ignorance, not knowing they could be harmful.

My MIL has talent of using hot water that can comfortably skin okuko. Her own is story for another day...

Do bear in mind that there are other erogenous zones on the body, including ni.pples, ears and neck to name a few that can cause arrousal! She says it will kill some cells that cause the need for too much pleasure.

I am concerned because I wouldn't want to my girl to grow up and start being promiscuous. I heard a story of one waka waka lady who claimed that it was because nothing was done to her hoohaa...

Is there even any truth in that?
If there is, are there ways one can prevent such?

Should the hoohaa of our female infants be left just as they are? Any risks.

I had already read the dangers of dusting powder on google before creating this thread.
I decided to open it to help others become aware too....



Even though I have read up on the dangers, I guess that belief that circumcision helps the hoohaa look finer when baby grows up still has its hold, albeit unconsciously.

It became more pronounced today because I want what's best for her.

I assumed a position of cluelessness because I wanted to re-get the facts right, despite being aware...just incase I missed something earlier.

Seriously don't mind those old mamas o, my mum went through same she was pestered by the older women around her then till I was circumcised ( Yes, I was). All these BS about the girl turning out to be promiscuous, plus low exposure and knowledge back then, she knew better with the next girl and actually stood her ground.

Not circumcising a girl child has nothing to do with promiscuity contrary to what they say, it's the values ingrained in the Child while growing up that'll guide her life choices and decisions.
Doing anything to affect the natural form is doing more harm than good, I don't have to talk much, I know you must have read about the side effects of these practices.
Actually hearing the dusting powder stuff for the first time, these mamas ehn. Can you imagine putting dusting powder in a baby's vagina!


Leave the baby girl be, just thank the mama, whenever she asks you about it, tell her you are applying it well. Don't leave your baby alone with such people o.
Just bring up your child the right way ( trust you, and may God make it easy). Allow her enjoy her sex life as much as possible when the time comes.

On the flip side,there are some chemicals in talcum powder that has been linked to cervical cancer.

The clitoris is the most sensitive part of a woman reproductive organs and is responsible for most women's orgasm.It's the reason some ethnic groups cut it to reduce a woman's sensitivity.

Do you know there's an inconclusive link between powders containing talc and ovarian cancer? This is in women who have a history of application around the genital area. I don't know though if your dusting powder has talc in it.
Anyways, try and raise your child well. Let her have confidence in herself.
We do have female prostitutes who are circumcised, BTW. That certainly didn't help them (and not all prostitutes start the trade from dire financial circumstance, some are just greedy n lazy)
Many girls who act up and are promiscuous do it NOT because they actually enjoy the sex (we have very few nymphomaniacs) but for deeper psychological reasons.
Watch your girl child like a hawk (even male children are not excluded these times we're in ).
Don't leave them (boy and girl ) alone with any uncle/aunt. You and your spouse must be actively involved in raising them.
Teach them from a young age to confide in you, to know nobody is allowed to touch them around their privates. Believe them when they tell you things, and be there dorbthem always

No, actually I'm annoyed with you. The fact that you even mention it and think circumcision would make her clitörïs look better means you must have considered it deep down in you and that's worrying.

Your aunt sounds very old school and I'll advise you NEVER to leave your daughter alone with her.

That abhorrent act was instigated by folks from the olden days to subdue the girl child. Apart from the numerous complications that ensue, it puts the child's life at risk.
