Same reason I didn't even bother applying cos my bvn will b linked to the tiny pay job. Just imagine I get a job in a good govt parastatal only for them to tell me shit about being employed already by the govt... undecided

it is commendable but I just believe that the reason for this verification and proper screening is because Npower is a volunteer scheme and politicians placed less important to it. If it is an important paid and permanent employment like recruitment in CBN, FIRS, NNPC, Police etc will they verify the BVN and also search for those that actually need the Job?. I think this kind of platform and rigorous background check should be extended to recruitment processes in every sector even at State and Local government level.

You have a point here, but the same is been done to permanent job seekers in the other government parastatals. If you as a civil servant does not have a valid BVN, it's next to impossible for you to get your salary...and you know there's TSA in town, so all this coupled together has made things to be in check.

Really? plate of food? in recession? Why would you buy a plate of food everyday in recession?

You must be very smart.

It's so simple, if you think the pay is small, or the registration and verification is taking forever...the announcement is too much. Just wait for a job with a better pay with less noise (if there's any visible) or keep mute and create one by yourself (100% visible and feasible).

Those shouting the amount is small, yes the amount is small, The programme is more like an intern or volunteer job where stipend will be paid. it is far better than the amount some schools pay teachers. The 30K is very very important to me and some other people as during the volunteer period, new skill can be learn, business can be established, Professional Courses can be acquired, those involve in small scale business can Also continue their business and expand it.

can i u ask a question?

how much does the F.G pay its senators + house of rep members + ministers who basically does little or nothing for the masses monthly?
calculate d millions x (rep members + ministers + senators) to see if its not more than the #6b monthly

if u say education is expensive then try ignorance + illiteracy

So wat dey said abt not getting anyoda govt job once ur npower payroll is true? shocked
it is not true, when this advert was done initially, it was stated that within two years you will be engaged. if u get a good job within your engagement period, you will stop your npower program and go for the job.. but if after 2yrs still no job, you will be removed from the program to create space for those done with nysc to come in...... so the fact that you are under npower does not stop you from getting any other federal govt job, dont get it wrong..... just that its about you making the choice then... npower is to sustain unemployed graduate while they look for good jobs....
