It is even criminal to send money to someone else's account wrongly. Do you know people can steal people's phone and token and send people's money to your account and you get arrested ? Havent you witnessed the Dasuki's saga in Nigeria presently ? I said the recipient's story can check out in court provided he presents evidences and the characters involved in argument. I have 3 lawyers on my Payroll and Tinubu has over 30 lawyers in his payroll. Lawyers will tell you how the law works. Keep your conscience aside. Stop acting as if the law is sacrosanct, you win by presenting a better argument.
young man stop arguing for God's sake. a billionaire won't even have the time for all this your auguments. hmmmm what concerns number of Lawyers on Tinubu payroll and urs

And what if those thieves are politicians and pastors?
I couldn't care less who it is, be it a politician or a pastor, a THIEF is a THIEF.

Buh in the religious section, u never consider pastors as thieves. You rather encourage people to pay their tithes and if they attack pastors of been scammers, u go haywire

Report to police & they will help you retrieve the balance . Sorry did I say police ? No ! DSS is a better alternative because police will ask you to buy pen & the notebook to write your statement, thereafter you must promise them commission etc ..Naija is really sick & I doubt if Buhari can heal her.

Nothing can be done I think! It happened to me and the bank said they can't do anything except I ask the person! The dude is my guy!!! When I told him the mistake, all he said was God Bless me for remembering him in this recession period! I was furious but then he sent me 80% n kept the rest! Then I learnt a very important lesion about being in a hurry!

Since you respond to me nicely I will respond to you nicely. Listen, we can not here and now prove that the accused lied. You and I can not literary prove that. Only a Lie Detector can prove that. I maintain that the chat checks out and if they go to court, the OP committed a greater offense by publishing not just photo but his phone line. I can care less about his nairaland ID, cos thankfully its anon. But let us start from the beginning.

The OP has done business with the nairalander before and he didnt scam him, thats credibility #1. Then he admitted receiving the money that is #2. The OP believed those facts. But when he said, I was expecting cash for an old woman for a medical treatment and have given to the woman, we all dont believe him anymore ? What if he is right ? Have we given him the benefit of the doubt ? We didnt, yet we judge him based on the content of our characters. Cos everything we time accuse others, it is actually our mind that is on parade.

A sincere man like me would totally believe that the accused is saying the truth, after all he has made efforts to repay. But even if he lied, he has also made effort to repay. After all as businessmen, people owe us money all the time, he would have probably thought one of his debtors or customers has paid his cash and will be waiting for the person to call. Common guys, this is cyber jungle justice and I totally dont rely on the justice from the court of public opinion.

I stand by my opinion that the OP is not just careless, he is equally judgmental. He had the motive to bring this up on nairaland from the very beginning and he knows it.
Baba. Give up on your useless epistles already. You are talking total rubbish!

There is a price for every mistake. I hope you dont expect me to pity you for making such a mistake. All you needed to do was to exercise patience and continue playing around with the guy until he refunds the money.

Now that you have exposed the guy's photo on social media and called him a thief, and also exposed his phone number. You should seriously pray that the guy doesnt take you to court and have you imprisoned. 53,000 naira is not money compared to the damages on his person and he can claim character assassination, loss of faith from his clients, loss of reputation and loss of business due to trust issues consequence upon your action. His story is believable and very clever. This is not about conscience, its about word play.

He can cleverly pay an old woman (if his version was a lie) to pose as the woman that expected the cash and he will win in court. Some of you dont know how to use your initiatives. This is counter-intituitive. No be everything dem dey use common-sense.

I hope you dont go to jail and pay hefty sum for this.
lol, someone that can steal 28k will have money to hire a lawyer and sue abi? lol. all op needs now is the thief's home address and some men clad in army uniforms. jail ko, spa ni.

I think you should be happy the guy even returned N25K. I am not saying it was right of him to keep the 28K or that he has any right to the money. I just have a very low opinion of Nigerians when it comes to money and I am shocked the guy even returned anything. These stories don't usually end with "the guy returned...."

you are lucky that he sent you 25k. if I were him, I would have dedicated a song to you..titled my helper o
This poster and others like him saying the op should be happy the guy returned some of the money, are seeing it this way because they are not at the receiving end. If it were to be their money, they will see it differently. They are indirectly encouraging the guy to continue in his low moral and dishonest ways which is the root cause of the problems we are in today in Nigeria. Mind you, it is easy for these sets of people to criticize those in govt forgetting that it all started like this for them too years ago.
If people like these (the rogue and his supporters) get to positions, will they change overnight? of course not, they will even perfect the act of dishonesty more. All in the name of 'things are tight' now, you deliberately take over what is not meant for you whilst depriving the owner of the use. Its alright, let us all continue to do what we know how to do best, one day the reward will come.
op, ensure you follow up with the bank, other account(s) he has can be traced too (with the bank through his BVN). Not just because of the money alone now but to also teach the rogue a lesson that honesty is the path to take.

reserved01 I think you should have treated the matter mentally not emotionally. yea many nairalanders may be bashing this guy but Trust me, if this guy takes you to court he will win you. 1) you have had business transaction before with said fellow and you were not scammed 2) He acknowledged receipt of funds and promised to transfer back until you started threatening him. 3) he transferred part of the money to you and explained y he couldn't transfer all immediately which shows sincerity. the problem with Nigerians( nairalanders) is that they react emotionally instead of mentally. you should have given the guy 1 month(at least he would be payed this month end if he is a copper) that would be 1 evidence in your favour. if he did not transfer back for you, you would have met his bank and police. if he is a thief he just played on your emotions and can still get more. billyonaire has made some nice points.

Even you, you're senseless. The guy that received unsolicited money had no intention of paying the remaining money from the later conversation they had. It's not his money so why would you say he tried for returning part and still planned to pay the rest. O jebi e bama san owo eni eleni? Rubbish

Op get a police and let them swing to action. The guy needs a iron hand. On a normal day if he didn't demonstrate that he wasn't ready to pay the rest, op mind would have been calm. There wouldn't have been a need for plan B. If you don't call the police for the guy, Op, na you wan jonz your money and that one no be anybody's business again. One thing I hate is when another man is trying to demonstrate they are wiser than everyone

Really, why do you guys focus on my username than the great personality behind it. Listen I have too many followers here and I have average of 5 every day. Even if the followership and the likes were to be bartered for naira, I would have still been a billionaire. People love me, cos I say things other people cant say. Go through my history, I keep repeating the simple fact that I am fucking rich, a billionaire and yet you think billionaires will reason like you ? If I reasoned like you, I would have still been living in my mother's basement. I am a business man and we look at life differently. The OP made a mistake, if I made such mistake I will laugh off and tell the fella to try and send what he can, cos I know he might be hungry. But what I am saying is that the accusers story can check out in court and the OP's action of publishing his data on social media can land him in jail.

Fact is fact, and my opinion MUST remain respected. I will NEVER be cowed by an assembly of sentimental elements who think life is religious. Life is not fair, and will never be fair. It wasnt designed to be fair.
