My 2 cents, start with the local dog, it prepares you 50% for the foreign breed. You can then get any of the small breeds after a while, say 4-5months.

Gsd... Buh be careful there are lot of rubbish dy normally sell as Gsd(German Shepherd)

Been spending 50 percent of my time in this section , the pet urge those overtook me again ,, missed dogs,, had a dog way back local dog, it was 8-9 years...... I wanna start again but i dont know how ready i should be

So you've had a dog and you understand somethings already, nice. They say the first thing is asking why you need a dog.

So, WHY DO YOU NEED A DOG?

Nothing really can state how ready or prepared you are or can be when it comes to owning dog(s). You're either ready or not and when you are, you'd definitely know.

But before you take on this commitment, (oh yea, it's a big one for that matter - I guess you plan to own the foreign breeds), ask yourself if you're ready to give the dog what she needs. Taking care of a dog goes beyond feeding or sheltering, it in simple English requires DEEP LOVING and I'm darn sure you know love is equal to or greater than MAKING SACRIFICES of your time, money, convenience, sleep, party, travelling, space.

Once that is answered, then research the breed that suits you, your lifestyle, your temperament and your pocket. Then love and cherish him. Then find a good vet and make him your second best friend. The last thing is to keep up with the research. Read and ask questions to know.
