CALABAR – The action of a PDP governor paying December salary on the 1st of December has sparked jubilation among the state government workers. It’s early Christmas for Civil Servants in this state.

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State yesterday, December 1 paid the December salary of all civil servants in the state, Brainnews NG reports.

The governor had promised to carry out the action during a retreat for political appointees at the Obudu Ranch Resort recently.

As reported by Brainnewsng.com Ayade had always paid the workers early since he assumed office in May 2015.

In May, salaries were paid on the first day to mark Workers’ Day.

While last month salaries were paid on November 15.

The governor however urged the workers to be prudent on how they spend their salary, promising them that he would be there for them n case they run into any financial difficulty before the end of January.

Gone are the days when Government do what they are constitutionally assigned to do without thanking them.

They fix roads, we jubilate as if they are doing us a huge favour.

They pay salaries, we thank them for doing so.

They pay for scholarships, we go online fighting ourselves as if the money belong to them.

They pay current or outstanding pensions, we leak their legs as if tomorrow no dey.

Them wan do election, we go kill ourselves meanwhile their kids dey abroad enjoying.

God help the masses in this country called Nigeria.

What's praiseworthy about paying salaries long before they are earned?

Wait and see how some of them will struggle to afford chicken for Christmas. Unless if he'll pay January salaries in a forthnight.

See the state, the country has reduced us too, we now jubilate once our right is been guranteed, but wait is Salary not your right, this is pitiable and pathetic, God help us.

this isnt right if jan isnt coming in by 2nd week latest, waiting till 16-20th isnt a bad idea, but today is just so out of it, so they go sidon for about 50days before the next pay, while some go even finish am before xmas show, it is well.

Pretty smart move they would buy their chicken and rice cheap before Xmas......smart Governor so they have more to save

I still maintained that any governor that owes more than a month salary should be STonded period. whether APC or PDP. These people so wicked . They deserve no Peace. Mtcheeeew!

People are praising their leadership for paying salaries. Unbelievable. Nigerians on their own should be in the Guinness book of records for the way they think. Smh.

Any salary earner in the house would know he just gave them a miserable end of the year celebration and a even more terrible January 2017.

Its cool to know they've been paid their november salaries as opposed to most other states though

What Matters is paying regularly after every 30days not b4 or aftet

Forgive my killjoy attitude but I don't see the sense in this, except he sustains the trend and continues paying salaries on or before the 20 of every month.
January is gonna be a very long month

He must surely pay them 13th month salary, otherwise, they will suffer for the early paid salary
