i dont know what ur trying to say here
but let me clarify the big picture which u clearly have no idea about

NAF operates Chinese aircraft's and other western aircraft's which India does not operate and therefor cannot support , similarly cant even supply the ammo for it .

same goes for NA and NAF equipment's

and Nigerian govt (especially civilian ones) never approached India for weapons .

and not say anything about the lackluster fuccking indian defense export , u guys must have exported more weapons than Indians themselves.

what India could help and did help was with training and dissemination of CT tactics (before BH happened it was conventional warfare training). also do u know the shear number of army navy airforce soldiers sailors pilots who were trained . try asking around and u will be surprised

india made many offers of weapons from trainer aircrafts (HP 34 Hindustan Aeronautic Trainer) to other weapons in the 80s , nigeria refused to buy .

do u know India devised and conducted two specialized counter-insurgency programs on Nigeria's request during the height of boko haram insurgency which i know of.
also do u know CT specialized Indian military trainers were especially sent to nigeria for in-situ training so that more soldiers could be taught at same time.

India for past years has been continuously providing training both in Nigeria and in Indian training centers, point is nobody in the public knows the extent of it . India keeps quite because it fears backlash on its citizens in Africa from terror groups. also if u help ur friends do u shout it out loud ? yes if u have exterior motives

also do u know the level of cooperation in intelligence sharing and training . no country will share its intelligence gathering tools , methodology , analytical software , profiling software etc , do u know what price we had to pay to get it from the Israelis.

all these still continues

i am not even mentioning the economical aspect , oil and everything

lastly India was not doing any favors . there is no such thing as favors among nations it is simply mutual interest and mutual understanding

also what u dont understand is no country is replaceable in international politics , every country has its own role.

i replied because i wanted to open ur eyes.
as far as nigerian government is concerned they fortunately have no views like yours because they know the truth .

there r so many things that we dont know so it is best not to make sweeping and assumptive statements

also dont connect this rely of mine with pak**** because it is not my concern in any way.
Mr NEMESIS
Let me be very clear without offending Indian sensibilities and maybe you will understand where I am coming from, Late 2014 was a very bad year logistics wise for Nigeria military wise and this is not bashing the GEJ ADMINISTRATION or praising the PMB ADMINISTRATION these are facts at the height of the insurgency trusted friends I grew up with, were making the equivalent of 1,200 km ( LAGOS - MAIDUGURI) trips to get military grade equipment as it was coming of the Docks, INDIA could of supplied Nigeria with 60MM,81 MM mortars 105mm ,155 mm artillery shells, they did NOT they stood on the sidelines/straddled the fence like the other nations . Counter intelligence programs are good , Multi billion dollar oil deals are good, the Naval ship biz deals are good but they are after the fact, it is not anger that drives me to write this it is the fact that Nigeria should wake up and realise just like the NAF CHIEF said to know who her true friends are.
Mr Bidexxi much as I want to remove the United Kingdom from that list I can't, because :
the U.K started"un- officially" helping Nigeria after the fall of Mubi and it's subsequent recapture
and it is not just the training ( BIMATT) that I am talking about , the UK on record ( Name witheld) sent at least one Naval Warship full of weapons to Nigeria in 2015 let us give the devil it's due
As for Ghana and the rest of the other African Nations, it is this author's opinion Nigeria as a Nation needs to focus more on adopting the " "Algerian Principle" of stay at home unless Nigeria's immediate interests are involved that means
WITHDRAW FROM"
Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Mali , and concentrate on building at home.

I don't think it's a dumb point at all to allow one's military to degrade to the point outsiders come and conduct training on what really ought to be taught internally. And grown men posting pics on the internet and dissembling by labeling it "training with" really illustrates the soft bigotry of low expectations holding back our continent.

I don't know, perhaps the illiterate South-African would be better off sending his message to his bosses in South-Africa.

The little Marine has to go down to the level of teaching the dumb South-African soldier how to push a suspect. Would you trust this one with a gun?

I must say some of the downright nastiness between the Saffies and the Nigerians on this thread is shocking.

All those I've had the privilege of knowing who served in the SANDF had nothing but respect for other armed forces - especially other African armed forces, who often have to shoulder the same burdens on shoestring budgets, with fewer resources. They (and with particular regards to the SADF/SWATF veterans) were some of the humblest okes I knew. Never boasted about how great they were - or how earth-shatteringly great the defence force was - and how inferior others were. They had no problem with meeting FAPLA or even Russian veterans for instance as equals, no objection to serving alongside Rwandans, Tanzanians, Egyptians, and Senegalese in the DRC.

And I believe those who serve in the NAF probably feel the same way. There is much mutual respect between soldiers on this continent who have all undergone the same struggles at some point (even when the politicians disagree).

So, out of respect for all those who served proudly and died for their countries - whether for South Africa or Nigeria - let us not continue the trash talking or the baity behavior. We are not doing our countries or the heroes of our armed forces any favours.

Thank you Mr HENRY
In time of trouble you will know who your friends are.
In times of Battle an officer earns the moniker " Battle Tested" because of the decisions he / she made that were crucial to the success of winning the war. IF boko haram brought out the absolute worst in some officers it also brought out the absolute best in some officers.
Lost in the hubaloo of celebration is what PAKISTAN did for Nigeria, LOGISTICS, LOGISTICS AND LOGISTICS
The CAS was not just criticizing America but also African countries that Nigeria had helped in the past that stood by idly ( read Angola, South Africa, Tanzania, and Ghana whose only " help " was to criticize.
This is the G2- G2 transaction between Nations and not coincidentally it involved PAKISTAN ( Not INDIA who kept a deafening silence despite being responsible for staffing the Initial NDA)
The JF 17S are coming no CAS leaves his country just to hand over trainers , the situation Nigeria is in to day is MAN- MADE in order to get out of it , what is required is Relationship that need to be built upon between the four Countries.
1. Pakistan.
2. Russia.
3. China
4. United Kingdom.
why united kingdom??..

what makes you think england will do anything for you without the say so of america??..

dont mistake, americans and europeans are both anglo-saxons..

dont let them deceive you...

am very disappointed that our fellow africans that we helped in the past only reward us with evil now..

latest case is kenya and south-africa...

screw pan africa...

The nastiness we've seen in this thread is because the vast majority of South-Africans who comment here apart from the likes of @Andrewza, @Jln115, @Mikecza, and @Gees9 have simply refused to understand the concept of mutual respect.

When i started this thread way back in 2013, i felt that, there was a need for Africans themselves to be able to correct some of the bad impressions others have of our militaries and post the photos/videos of all that is right with African armies. We know the bad stuffs of our armies, we are fully aware of them, the rest of the world also see all that is wrong with our Armies, then why don't we show the good side, i thought to myself.

So, when i began posting pictures here, i always made sure i shared the best i could find of African militaries, I didn't try to discriminate, because i'm Nigerian, let me post all the cool Nigeria stuff, and to hell with the others. Nope, i shared all the cool images from Nigeria, South-Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Angola etc etc. Go to page 1 and see for yourself.

Along with other Nigerians, South-Africans, Kenyans, Namibians, Ghanaians, Algerian, Zimbabwean, Somali we've managed to grow to 809 pages and have continued to sustain the thread all this while.

However, most of the South-Africans who comment here, have continued to sew seeds of discord, internet violence and as such, we as Nigerians would respond appropriately.

Anybody who feels he cannot show mutual-respect to another, there's absolutely no problem with joking, should do us the favour and quit commenting.
