Apart from population, I really don't see the reason we call ourselves giants of Africa... They er business we really need in this country to help our economy. Like having a telecom company like MTN (though we have glo already, buh its a private company)and a TV service like DSTV owned by fed govt... Its will boost our economy , and create jobs for youths... I think our leaders really needs to seat and discuss on how to restore our pride as a nation...
Now, the dollar is straightening and our beloved naira s devaluating... This isn't really what we planned for, Nigeria needs a structure to grow the naira... She needs a business that can be patronised by foreigners... It need rebranding...

It's not going to work because they wouldn't be effective. Businesses are supposed to be profit driven and most times government can't do what it has to do to generate massive profits like a private company. If they decide to citizens will complain. Imagine government running company like DSTV, they will want to reduce cost like making premium 5k to please her citizens. But do you think they will be able to render sustainable quality service and pay all its workers with that and also make enough money infrastructural development in the country? A government owned dangote cannot get to where it is now with civil servants running it because whether they make profits or not they must be paid salaries as civil servants.

The first one I checked was Canada as it is one of the very developed countries. What is there is airports, lottery and one other which is normal. Every country has control of these.

Nigeria currently has NNPC, NTA, airports, sea ports, etc and they are all struggling. Now you want to start comparing with countries that are very stable? Government should do the simple things first and when we have stability then you can think of running businesses.

bro.. That's the reason I said we need to re structure things... Moreover, that NTA ..isn't more of a business to me...its like a free station... Our Airports are trying.. Seaport in Lagos is doing well... NNPC(hmmm) bro if u spend all ur money repairing an old vehicle, u mightn't buy a new again. Think ..
