Truthfully, i would rather have Bayern than Barca. Bayern have not exactly been dominant thus far, their vulnerability is buttressed in their form. I believe Arsenal can get a result in one of the legs, however, would it be enough? i guess we have to wait until February.
Arsenal have historically always gotten results from one of the legs but regularly always fallen short, So this isnt a new phenomenon because the matches are 2 legged

FFS how many times won play Bayern.

Perhaps we should just take that scummy's advice and finish 3rd so we go play Europa, if we face Bayern there again then we know there is a covenant.

I just hope Mustafi returns as scheduled. We would need his intelligence and speed against a pacy Bayern side in February.

cheesy cheesy cheesy

The issue is not being able to beat Bayern. It's that we needed to get the easier option.

There was Benfica, Porto, Sevilla, and Bayer, why Bayern?

When Madrid was drawn, I was like huush! We escaped. Then I saw Bayern and was like, WT...blip.

Is there a season where we don't play either Bayern or Barca, be it at GRP stages or knock out? Meanwhile Leicester gets Sevilla, why always us?

TBH I wont worry as long as our natural starters are fit and Giroud doesn't start.

A good position in the league could give us the leverage come Feb. I do know that Bayern is weaker than thought.

My target self is EPL.

Our current team are a lot stronger, more matured and more confident than the previous ones who lost to Bayern. Barring injuries, I have very little doubts that we can beat Bayern.

This is knockout phase. It all boils down to what happens on the night. I also think Wenger is tactically astute enough to plot Bayern's downfall.

No qualms.

So true. Things could change come Feb. The thing is I do not really fancy us to winning the CL as much as te EPL. Though I want us to go far.

Meanwhile, predicting the team to play Everton.
It's a must win for us to keep the pressure on Chelsea. Also, 3points here is worth 6 as it is expected that some of our rivals will drop points at Everton.

Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 6:55pm On Dec 13, 2016
Suffice me to say...

It is remarkable that, the Xhaka- Coquelin partnership when it finally clicks may turn out to be even better than with Cazorla.

Both are good on the tackle, and while it's Xhaka who sits back and build from behind, Coquelin does the high press. Xhaka has got very good passing ability, and Coq very good tackling and interceptions.

Cazorla, though excellent in building from the back is poor at tackling and pressing. Coquelin does more work with Cazorla than with Xhaka. Which explains a poorer disciplinary record when playing with Cazorla.

What do you think?
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by mystikal(m): 7:15pm On Dec 13, 2016
The problem with coquelin doing high press, is if eventually he intercepts the ball, what he does next with the ball doesn't pressure the opposition enough. Cazorla provides more with the ball than coq
