You ended up saying the same thing i said. I pointed out the steve jobs and wozniak example. Without wozniak, there wouldn't be a JOBS not even an APPLE company. Jobs was just a good CEO with an eye for design.

Forgive me, when categorizing companies. I think Apple, Facebook, Alphabet, Microsoft (probably uber too) are in a league of their own, so i am exempting them from the list. So i would ask again. How often do you find a fb type company ?

IMO, Alphabet is s better company than Facebook. Larry Page and Sergey Brin revolutionized Search. If not for Google, crap like Altavista would still be on board.
Mark's success is out of sheer luck.

People also seem to forget about the genius coders that work behind the scene.
Guys like Jeff Dean(OGA AT THE TOP, this guy created AdSense), Amit Singhal, Urs Hozle, Sanjay Ghemewat shaped Google.
Adam was one of the guys that shaped Facebook. They also have lots of people. I don't know much about Facebook though.

There would be no Apple without the both of them. Woz technical skills was next to none and the same can be said of Job's ability.
I've read about Job's history. While he was fascinated by electricity, his interest in computers was as a result of his relationship with Woz

I Think your argument here is a little bit flawed.. Any moderately sensible person would eat up his competitors.. Buying companies doesn't make him a great Ceo
