Since preserved chronological records showed that the Jews descended from Eden and the Igbos record supports that claim, then all life descended from Eden, until their is a verifiable evidence that started otherwise. It is very funny how people reach conclusions concerning the authenticity of the Bible because of historical records that doesn't seem to agree with facts. How many of us can accurately narrate the history of our families to 20 generations? Some of us don't even know the name of our great great grandparents.

Well, you will only ask those who have not had true life transformation in Jesus to throw away their Bibles. Christ is still changing lives. He is still doing miracles, opening blind eyes and giving hope to the hopeless.

First of all, there was no tape recorder nor video recorder in the days of Noah. Record keeping was not also as easy as it is now. Even at that time, no one has discovered how the earth really looks like in terms of shape and topography. There were no airiel photographs. Not all the mountains have been discovered. So, if the writer or the record keeper never knew anything about Mt Everest, and all the mountains he knew were all covered within his vicinity, the record of the event will not be seen as a fairy tale.

Also remember, there were no airplanes, no telescope. No one also had discovered the whole earth as at that time. America was only discovered a few hundred years ago. So, from the view of the observer at that time, every mountain was covered. The height of the water level was even stated, 15 cubits (Genesis 7:20). This is about 22.2 ft. And in meters about, 7 meters. Water level above sea level cannot be the same at all locations. When rain falls, some areas are completely flooded while others are not affected with flood. So, 7 meters depth in one location can be 100 meters depth in another location. Please, stop using Mt Everest as your reference point in the calculation of volumes of water above the earth. The recorder or narrator may not have known anything about Mount Everest.

You may want to query that if the Bible is the word of God, it should be accurate and should take all facts into consideration. God did not write the Bible, but he revealed things to those who wrote them. The accuracy therefore can be marred to some extent by human limitations but without distortion of the message. This is how we should look at the Bible. Every thing in the Bible is truly stated but not everything is absolutely true. Human errors cannot be overlooked but it should not alter the truth it conveys. The Bible is the only reliable book that reveals the story of creation and the genealogy of the early days. No other books on earth give such details. If you throw away the Bible, you will be lost as to how the world actually began. Evolution theory is a guess work that can't answer several questions of life and cannot also be proven.

Again, the present earth today was not what it was then. All the continents where together then. If you look at the world map, you will notice that you can actually fit them back together suggesting they were separated at a point in history. Science mentioned it. The Bible even mentioned when the separation took place. Genesis 10:25.

Concerning how thousands of species of animals could all be preserved in one single ship, this is my take. Most of the animals survived the flood as they can also live in water. Noah doesn't have to create a pool for fish in the ship. He doesn't have to take crocodiles in there also. The Bible says that we know in part right now. I don't know everything and can't know everything. Most of the animals Noah had to preserve are those that can only survive on lands and birds that can't withstand rain.

Only the Bible tells us the origin of rainbow. Only the Bible tells us the origin of Giants. Only the Bible reveals to us what will happen in the last days. And we are seeing them already.

Can you refute the claims of Jesus resurrection? Archeologists have not been able to dig out the body of Jesus. He is alive. He rose from the dead. Without the Bible, this truth would have been buried. The Bible reveals to us the end of Satan's Kingdom. Successive Kingdom and reigns of kings were revealed to Daniel and it is happening just the way it was revealed. And you tell us to throw it away? Thousands of people have received healings by putting their faith in the word of God and you say they should throw the book that has given them life and hope away? I think you are the one ready to be thrown away to the pit of hell for allowing the devil to use you to weaken the faith of believers. Repent quickly before it is too late.

Without Christ, your age is unknown. History is centered on him. Your birthday is with reference to Christ. It is either BC or AD. So wise up and embrace the most inspired book on earth. Though marred with negligible errors, the truth is not altered. Man sinned. Jesus is the Saviour. All who believes in him and live right have eternal life. All who reject him are doomed for destruction.

Hehehehe, where are non-religious societies? You probably want to refer to developed countries. Developed countries are founded on principles of righteousness and true holiness. Righteousness exalts a nation, nobody promised that religion will exalt anybody. Nigeria for instance is not a righteous nation but many religious people. Religion takes no one nowhere. The righteous principles of love, honesty, hardwork, transparency, charity/hospitality, generosity, planning, virtue etc will always usher in prosperity irrespective of who practices them. Pleasing God is not just in singing and dancing or clapping, or even praying. When one eschews evil and loves righteousness, there will be no chaos. People living in the principles enshrined in the Bible have lesser problems. That is a different matter from ultimate salvation BTW. You know how one is saved(going to heaven in eternity) by now i'm sure.

Before we go far, the BIG QUESTION IS, COULD THIS HAVE EVER happened? Could the whole earth be truly covered by water?

GENESIS 7:18-20 "18 The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. 19 They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. 20 The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits"

For us to accept this we must Note verse 19 that says the water covers ALL mountains under the heavens INCLUDING mount EVEREST that is 8,800 meters tall!

How much water will be needed for this to be achieved?

CALCULATION
Volume of water above all mountains = (Volume of earth+water above highest peak)V2 - (volume of earth)V1

volume of a sphere, V=4/3πr³.

Radius of the Earth is 6,371KM

V1= 1,083,642,907,017.5 Cubic kilometers

To get V2 we must add the height of the highest peak which is mount Everest(which is 8.8km) to the radius of the earth at sea level.
R2= 6,371 + 8.8 = 6,379.8KM

Using the formula V=4/3πr³.

V2=1,088,139,486,240.6 Cubic Kilometer (which will be the new volume of the earth when totally covered with water)

So the added volume is V2-V1
=4,496,579,223.1 Cubic kilometers of water!

YES, it is possible to eschew evil and love righteousness without Jesus. People do it all the time. You do not need to know Jesus to hate cheating, or stealing, or infidelity for instance. You do not need to know Jesus to do kind deeds and good works. (However, you need Jesus to be good.)
People in advanced countries have a righteous foundation and a virtually righteous system. A system that hates evil, that neither condone corruption nor rewards laziness. A place where wisdom is magnified and encouraged. A society not engulfed in greed, avarice, bribery and frustration of justice. Those righteous deeds bring progress. Those things are rare over here in naija for instance. We have a lot of religion here but little righteousness.

Above is the proportion of water to earth of the whole earth. (This information is from the united states geological website)
Yes 71% of the surface of the earth is covered by water it does not equal to 71% of the Volume of the earth.

It is just like buying bread that is wrapped in nylon. 100% of the bread is covered, But that nylon cover is ONLY about 2% of the volume of the bread. Got it?

In actual fact, the earth only has a total of 1.3billion cubic kilometers of water when water in the atmosphere, seas, oceans, rivers, lakes, ice-bergs etc are all added up. So where did 4.5 billion extra come from?
