Some guys are thrilled by players who are good at padding stats...... I'd rather go for the ones that rise up to the occasion at the biggest stages not the ones that disappear into the thin air when they are needed most.

There is absolutely no need comparing these 2 guys. They both paid their dues in their own ways.
Iniesta was a fantastic player for Spain and Barca between 2007 and 2013 and won lovely trophies along the way. Lampard, on the other hand, had a great time playing for his club between 2003 and 2012, winning some trophies and setting some mad goal records. I am sure if you ask both of them about their football careers, they will tell you they are satisfied with how things panned out. Nuff said mehn

In a bid to spite Iniesta, you limited his time frame to just 6 years. I don't blame you because as a Barcelona hater, you decide to ignore the truth.

Iniesta has been winning trophies for Barcelona since 2005, and he's still winning in 2016, and he stands a chance to win something in 2017.

And please don't tell me Lampard is satisfied with not helping his country qualify for a semifinal in any competition not to talk of winning a trophy.

Shut up football is not lawn tennis. If Barca succeeded in signing Lampard that year he would've achieved same accolades as iniesta if not more. Gerrard was a great footballer but his loyalty to Liverpool restricted him to achieve so many things in football like his mate(Lampard and iniesta).
Lampard was a great
Footballer just like iniesta. My problem with you guys is your double standard when it comes to stats, it can be use when comparing hazard and Neymar (even while they play different position) but can't be use when comparing iniesta and Lampard(even as they play same position).

Can't you talk without bringing Ney/Haz into it? angry

I don't wanna discuss Gerrard because as good as he was, he was a big flop and the architect of his downfall on many occasion.

Iniesta has proven overtime that he doesn't need Messi to succeed. He is a Don and a Lord and one who influences destiny.

Who is Lampard without Drogba? Just like who is Henry without Zidane?

It would have made a great sense if you had directed your post to Shekpe fans who brought up the comparison rather than Barca fans who have no choice but to defend their own.
By the way, can you please tell us why the same Lampard couldn't make any of his robust stats count for his country despite the array of stars and award winners he played with?

Your last statement sold you out. You mentioned drogba and Zidane but didn't mention xavi, Alonso. Since those two retired Spain have returned to their usual self.

Meanwhile he's been in Spain for a lot longer, he's played with far better teammates and he's played more minutes...but Messi still can't outscore Ororo in the league.

Messi ain't a goal scoring machine unlike ororo, if Messi had solely focused on goalscoring like cr7, you think cr7 would near him?

50 goals in a league season, Nihilist let Ronaldo beat that, then we can talk about 91 goals in a calender year!

Nihilist, football is never entirely about the number of goals you score: however ; 1. take into account how many penalty goals they both have. 2. take into account how many assists they both have within the period. 3. take into account that in 6 seasons since 2009, messi has won the official best player in la liga 5 times while ronaldo has won just one, I repeat just one. best player in la liga. 2009/2010-messi. 2010/2011-messi. 2011/2012-messi. 2012/2013-messi. 2013/2014-ronaldo. 2014/2015-messi. Nihilist, football is not all about lurking around the 18 yard box and tapping the ball in the back of the net.

We remember Drogba above others in Chelsea's 2012 UCL win.

We remember Zidane above Henry in world cup 1998 and Euro 2000.

We remember Iniesta in world cup final 2010.

Tell me any Chelsea's biggest matches in Europe when trophies are won where you remember Lampard.

All this shows is that Messi suffered a lean spell afterwards while Ororo stayed slaying, because despite scoring 50 goals in a season, Messi still can't outscore Ororo.

Messi has always played with better teammates than Ronaldo. And of course the best player in the best team in the league is likely to win the best player in the league award.

But people also realise that a striker can score a million goals and still fail to win the league if his teammates let him down, afterall the Messi with exactly the same number of goals has won the league 5 times to Ronaldo's 1.. This is why Ronaldo has been voted the best player in the world three times since he moved to spain, because despite only winning the league once, it's pretty obvious that he's been as prolific as the midget supported by better team mates.

Ronaldo scored 48 goals or so! So there wasn't any lean spell! He just moved to a deeper position, so that's why his goals dropped!
But your friend is now a striker, with another striker doing the hard work of dragging defenders out so that Ronaldo would have it very easy, yet he can't outscore Messi!

lol. I actually knew you would say that. real Madrid football club can neither talk about nor point to better players else where in the whole wide world. real Madrid affords the best players in the world and poaches the best players in the world. a Cristiano ronaldo cannot be playing with superstars like casillas, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Alonso, ozil, benzema, higuain, tony kroos, bale, Luca modric, casmiero, varane, khedira, under the tutelage of managers like jose mourinho and ancelotti and still be pointing at better players anywhere else on planet earth. which takes me to the next point. it has been said time and time again, the difference between real Madrid and Barcelona is messi. there are no better players at barca than at Madrid. it is messi who makes the difference. apart from his magic and wizardry, he creates an atmosphere of love ON THE PITCH. ronaldo says he doesn't have to give hugs and little kisses to his team mates on the pitch but messi does all that with his teammates. and what's the outcome?a better and unified team of course. bale scores a goal, ronaldo is angry, benzema takes a shot, ronaldo is angry, abeloa scores his first goal in 4 years, ronaldo is angry! and you expect real Madrid to have a better team than barca? never! barca and Madrid have world class players on the same levels. messi brings harmony to his team, ronaldo brings rivalry to his own team. next let's talk about assists since 2009. after that we'd talk about penalty goals inside the number of goals they have both scored.
