atheist do pray before eating in public, either public food or whatever.
so why? and to whom they pray to?

Only an atheist can provide an answer to your questions.So let's wait for one

same reason most atheists still go to church, mosques, shrines etc even pray, sing and dance more than the average theist around

I wouldn't read too much meaning to it unless such an atheist actually prayed before eating when he's completely alone

I've never encountered an atheist pray before eating and In my life I've only met an atheist face to face.


I for one don't pray before eating, but I believe why most atheist pray before eating is because most are in the mist of theist and don't want to expose their beliefs.

*Raises hand up* Atheist right here, I can categorically tell you Atheists don't do such barbaric act unless they trying to fit in in a new surrounding filled with fundamentalist christians.

What is prayer

My journey to atheism started with questions like...

why do I have to pray each time I want to eat?

So I prayed in advance on all the food i'll eat for the rest of my life to remove the burden of praying each time I am about to eat.

When my folks would ask, "why didn't you pray?". Then i'ld say "I prayed for all the food I'll eat today, this week, this month, this year and the rest of my life".

There are too many indications to the stupidity of our religious belief systems, it just takes a simple reassessment of your thoughts independently.

@OP, atheists don't pray, they may pretend to be praying just to keep worrying minds at bay.
