Merry Xmas People,

I have a problem with my honda accord 2008 V6. Wondering if you guys have experienced such, and any advice or solution.

The drive D indicator keeps blinking, VSA and caution indicators are on.

The car really jerks on entering/changing gears(AFT automatic transmission) I have changed the fluid, but the problem still remains.

My mechanic suggested I change the gear switch, but is really the cause? please what could be the problem here, and Advice/solution please?

Also, the car drinks fuel like a b****, Ajah to mainland just once takes more than a 1/4 of my fuel tank, i.e 3k naira. Please advice as this is absurd.

I also hear a faint rattling noise on the highway any time the accelerator is pressed. What could be the cause?

Thanks in advance for the comments

The rattling noise and high fuel consumption indicates a ruptured catalystic converter, the VSA light could be a severed ABS cable,, for the aggressive transmission and "caution", a scan should be the first step before analysis.

Merry Christmas.

Easy fix, brake switch at the brake pedal is out of place. Place your back on your foot mat, and look up at the brake pedal you will see it.

Most times superglue and soft bathroom silpers cures that madness forever

Best Nairaland Topic: Gazzuzz U re the man. I got the same problem and I follow instructions and walla the brake light was off.
i noticed the rubber in the car when I luck the with pedal luck 4 days. traced it as u said. the pictures below of the broken rubber. 2. the sliper and glue that did the wonder. thank you

Please I need help with my Honda accord fuel gauage. The gauage is stuck on empty even when I have a full thank. Took the car to the car electrician, after much testing he said I had to get a gauage cluster as the sender unit and other wiring are correct. I bought a new guage cluster from onitsha but was surprised that it didn't work. When connected to my car, the dashboard lights, speedometer and other meters worked but d fuel guage was still stuck on empty. My electrician said the cluster I bought wasn't for my car. He showed me the numbers on mine and the one I bought the difference was just in alphabet. Mine had AF before alphabet but one I bought had a different alphabet which I can't recall. He also said mine was a 2013 while I bought a 2014, but my car is a 2003 model

Please gurus in d house kindly advise, is it possible that a car of d same yr model would have certain different electrical components? Also if it was different like d electrician stated, how come other meters on the car worked except the fuel guage. Please I need ur thoughts so I don't spend more money returning something that isn't faulty cos am already suspecting that I didn't need a new cluster in the first place.

quite confusing. Do an actuation test using a high end diagnostic equipment, to test the individual guages on the cluster. In my experience with that model, it gets stuck some times and need s a manual budge and every thing goes back to normal.

Oga gazzuzz,

Specialist900:
these are the codes the car threw
P0325
P1166
P1167
P0141
P0700
P1739.

Thanks for your concern
chief, the codes were knock sensor and oxygen sensors. Do I just change those items alone or I'll also need to replace the cat converter.

Compliments of the season
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by GAZZUZZ(m): 3:34pm On Dec 25, 2016
P0325
P1166
P1167
P0141
P0700
P1739.

If your scanner can read out codes, please be kind enough to post entire. Meaning.

P1166:Air / Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor (Sensor 1) Heater System Electrical Problem A/F sensor heater,or Heated Oxgen Sensor Sensor1 (Primary HO2S) Heater Circuit Malfunction (HO2S)

P1167: Air / Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor (Sensor 1) Heater System Malfunction A/F sensor heater,or Heated Oxygen Sensor Sensor1 (Primary LAF HO2S) Heater System Malfunction A/F sensor heater

P0141: O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2

P0700: Transmission Control System (MIL Request)

P1739: Problem in 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch Circuit

You clearly have an O2 sensor issue and a transmission issue.

Morning oga gazzuzz, luvinhubby and the other gurus in the house. Pls my honda baby boy won't start in the morning or when I leave the engine cold for long. It started a while ago... Just changed engine and its still doing the same. The first attempt won't start at all, the second attempt would start but jerks then go off, the third attempt will start, jerks and go off. I will have to keep accelerating till it starts and keep my foot on the accelerator for like 2mins before it start acting normal. If I switch the engine off and turn it on immediately, it starts after then. Some thing like a cold start issue. Also, the fumes coming from the silencer is watering the eyes.

Car runs pretty well! Just this issues! I experienced it before changing the engine, still experiencing same now. Please help!!!

If the dashboard lights come on and car is not starting, the kick-starter failed.

Bad fuel, bad ECT sensor are possible culprits. You will need to scan. To rule out a bad ECT switch scan 1st thing in the morning, the ECT and IAT should read the same temperature. If different ECT is likely bad. You may also get a ECT code

Hello House

My 2007 Honda CR-V drags during start-up in the morning and after parking it for long. It also jerks once when changing gears from 1 to 2 during start up. After, driving it for about 15 minutes, it drives smoothly thereafter, until after parking it for long hours. Everyone in the car can feel the jerk as the impact is usually heavy. However, if i remove my leg from the pedal to allow the gear change, it changes normally without the jerk. This has been the situation for about three months and i have done an ATF change with recommended Honda ATF DW-1.

Recently, it started jerking slightly during high speed acceleration usually gear 3 and 4 even after driving for long hours. This jerk is usually felt by only the driver as the gas pedal vibrates slightly.

Scanned the car three months ago before the initial oil change and it brought up P0420 only. I have since removed the catalyst converters and used an 02 sensor spacers to eliminate the check engine light. House, please assist with the possible issues to watch out for.

2006 Honda Accord Ex-L V6 with Dual Zone Climate Control.
1st,The air from passenger side vents is colder than that of the driver side vents.
2ndly, the vents on the far left and right for both driver and passenger hardly blows any air out unless I increase the fan speed to the 4th or 5th speed.
Any resolutions

1st issue: Assuming you are having this issue with the driver's side climate control temperature set for its coldest (thick blue), you are LOW on refrigerant. Recharging your a/c system with good refrigerant will solve that.

2nd issue: Your cabin air filter must be very dirty. Replace it and you'll get much better air flow and colder too.

Cheers!
