How come in death, they are still alive.

Jesus even quoted: God is not the God of the Dead but of the living.

how does being a spirit give immortality?? the bible already said only God has immortality... being a spirit isn't an automatic ticket for immortality..... besides... the verse you quoted stated that God created them male and female... meaning he created spirits male and female? spirits have gender? he told them to be fruitful and multiply... looking at the story you will know its not even the story of adam and eve neither is it talking about spirits.. cuz spirits don't reproduce

nowhere in the first chapter did it hint that man was invisible... chapter one and two are different creation stories.. chapter one said he created THEM(plural tense... hinting more than 2 people) male and female, gave them dominion and told them to multiply(not something spirits do)... in verse 2 God created only Adam from dust..breathed into him.. thats how he came alive.. he wasn't living before then...not as a spirit.. nothing.. if he were a spirit, then God would've created a body and sent his(Adam's) spirit into the body.. but that wasn't the case... then he used a rib from adam to create eve(was still not existing before)




the spirit is the consciousness... yes... the spirit being in the body makes it a soul... spirit+body=soul

i believe that there are certain things in life being revealed by the holy spirit.. i won't deny that.. but the double creation story seems to be a problem.. its ok to try to unify it... but it still remains 2 different stories to me... my mind can't unify it. i really respect you and appreciate your effort in trying to explain it to me... the lord is your strength.. but I've already kinda researched this and seem to be sure to an extent... i may be wrong.. i don't have the monopoly of being right.. i will learn more in due time.. maybe in favour of your teaching .. maybe against it.. i dunno.. The bible teaches that all life comes from God, without Him none can be alife. After the sin of Adam and Eve, God told them that from dust the were and to dust they shall return. In other words, they were nothing before He gave them life and at death they shall return to their initial lifeless state.
Immortality on the other hand is a gift from God to His faithful servants.

concerning the creation story, i know there's a hell lot more to it than what is in the bible... I'm sure of it... check the oldest religions in history... they were mostly monotheistic before many moved to polytheism... but check the monotheistic religions of old... they have a creation story too similar to ignore... so you may be right... a literal interpretation might not be the best idea... but again... many Christians won't agree with the view
