The MI-28 and KA-50 are not in the same league with Rooivalk.

We can only compare Rooivalk with MI-35 which have different variant
Which is exactly what I said

OK.

I know Rooivalk is better than most variant of Mi-35/MI-24 in terms of capabilities but MI-35M seems to have all those capabilities the Rooivalk boast of too.

Till you have the time and energy sha cause I really want to know.

iblawi:
The Rooivalk have old avionics, they are expensive and the French are not giving any guarantee for the key spares which are not even produced in South Africa. These are the reasons why no one is interested in Rooivalk. Even the SAAF is playing safe and it's not just about the money.

http://m.engineeringnews.co.za/article/what-went-wrong-with-the-rooivalk-2007-06-08-1/rep_id:4433
Age =/= Capability

Rooivalk uses the same engine and drive components as the Oryx, logistics are not a concern.

Rooivalk has better performance characteristics than the Mi35M/E, can do NOE flight and can operate out of the most basic of airstrips (or the bush if need be). In the vast african battle space, going further faster is a game changer, while due to our continents lack of development the ability to operate with very little in terms of infrastructure is an excellent advantage. Rooivalk also has a bigger weapons payload, so there is that too.

As for avionics, they both have the same sort of equipment, self protection, day-night operation, GPS etc etc etc so any further comparison would have to be extremely technical and would require acess to information that I dont think anyone here has, except for Frum who is no doubt hording it like Jew-Gold under his bed.

Avoid using words like "better, best, most" in the same sentence with "Africa"... Patriotism is rife here.
I'll better say, one of the more advanced helicopters in the African continent.

It seems like Paramount Group looses again sad
I believe Paramount Group partners with Damen. So the IPV is also a win for Paramount. To every person watching, the process is so slow, I understand cost is a major factor, but buying 1 or 2 units a year would have been far better.

I agree with you. The capabilities are similar and comparing the two would have to be extremely technical to know which is more advanced.

It's better to just drop the issue since we can't provide such details.

I believe avionics is a key part of any Aircraft and no one can really provide technical information about the Rooivalk except few South African who are not on this thread but the MI-35 is being used and tested by many. It's better to just let it be.

MI 35M is of course more advanced, more reliable and more capable than Rooivalk

Nigerian Air Force assets deployed in support of operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri, Borno state.

-I can spot the NAF's MI-17 which was weaponised and upgraded in Nigeria. Good job to the Air Force.

- A C-130

- NAF Agusta A109

- Alpha jet

And MI-24v

Oga Henry shared this photo sometime in 2016, stating that it could be a Nigerian MI-35m. I guess we are about to find out if he guessed right.
