Andyblaze:You are right because Pastors are not human beings and are never affected by the economic situation of the country. Infact they are gods so why should they comment about National activities or even want to participate in politics. Afterall, they and their church members don't belong to the earth so are not affected by anything on earth. Please kneel down let me conduct deliverance for your brain. It needs urgent slap-reset. |

State of the nation indeed. Well, it's the usual talk. I wonder why he didn't talk about the massacre going on in Southern Kaduna. There's a pattern I am seeing here. It seems he is prepping to come into govt. Time will tell. |

Our founding fathers agreed that Nigeria would be “a truly federal state with limited & specific powers allocated to the federal government. This agreement was the social contract upon which the Nigerian state was formed. This social contract was broken on May 24, 1966 through the Unification Decree by Gen. J.T.U. Aguiyi-Ironsi’s administration. |

solaugo1:I dont agree completely that sectional rife will be eliminated if we go back to a regional or geopolitical structure, it doesn't stop each region struggling to produce the mayor with the mentality of the average Nigerian politician. You will be suprised in a few years some people will threaten to pull out from their respective regions. In a SW region for example, an average Oyo man may not be happy that a Lagosian has ruled more than himself regardless of the fact that the person must have won a regional election that clearly reflects the wish of the people. Unless Nigeria is balkanized to accommodate the greed of every politician then I may agree. If you think that 36 Ministers is too much (I agree with you anyways ) do you need a restructured Nigeria to achieve that? A simple constitutional review can reduce the number of ministers. A regional government has overlapping portfolios (fed/regional) isnt that a bureaucracy on its part? |

ChessEnthusiast:They won't like it at all. Tunde Bakare puts it very correctly as the day Ironsi's Unification Decree was made was the day Nigeria died. |

chibuzorAbia:A bastard and shortsighted fool called Aguyi Ironsi. At a time the public did not complain about the constitution, he commenced a unilateral review of it all in the name of seeking national 'unity'. One wonders whom he was seeking unity with. Nonsensical mentality! |

deflover:The facts of history don't support your claim. It was Zik who, three years before Nigeria became a republic, rejected the AG-NCNC coalition proposal and merged his party (NCNC) and votes with those of the North (NPC) to produce Tafawa Balewa as the first ruler thereby Zik sacrificing his own chances of becoming the prime minister that would have been had he accepted the proposed ideologically based all-South AG-NCNC alliance. Please read your history books all over again. |

Statsocial:Multiculturalism is very good and quite advantageous but Nigeria seem to abuse the dividends of multiculturalism by bigotry, religious crisis and hatred for one another. If Nigeria can introduce equity, tolerance and love for one another irrespective of tribe and religion, then there will be no Country like Nigeria on earth. Who is not proud to have beautiful northern girls, endowed western girls, innovative Eastern girls in the same Country? |
