Well It is better for someone to know his future ambition earlier before choosing a course of study. For someone who knows how to draw, sketch should for to Art Class and not follow the masses (friends) to Commercial or Science class.

It is possible to focus on both. You should realize that all you need, you can't get in school. I'd say you do a mix of both and not allow one path weigh heavily on the other

Hmmm, I this post and its writer, may God bless him/her.
The fact is that education is meant to put one future ambition in better shape. Hence, from many experience and career readings it is better to focus on where ur passion (i. e ur future ambition) lies.
However, there is one 'but', some could not identify their future ambition until immediately after secondary school or after getting tertiary admission.
For those set up people they should focus on their course of study and realized future ambition or passion. But the best remains discovery ur area of passion (i. e future ambition) right from childhood and should both ur secondary and tertiary education in with that ur future ambition.
