About To Lose My Job Because Of Glo Bad Network. by culcid(m): 12:44pm On Jan 10, 2017
Glo Glo Glo Glo

What did I do to you

I'm in serious trouble and at the verge of losing my job because of Glo network.

Late last year after using specranet for few months, I convinced my boss to switch our internet service provider to Glo. He insisted we continue with spectranet, as a known devil is better than unknown angel. Being that I double as the IT personel with other responsibilities, I needed more data as specranet barely last for two weeks and it affects me the most.

So with Glo offering x 3 of data size compared to spectranet with same amount , I did everything to persuade my boss.

Fast forward to this year, at the resumption of work , I immediately went to Glo office, acquired their router and 4G sim which comes with 60gb/one month package.

My problem started when I opened the box containing the router, unlike spectranet , I saw only the router , power park and cable, while that of spectranet contains all, in addition to a power bank and antenna.

I waited for almost 2hours for them to do all the registrations and set up. Then comes the trial , to be sincere it connected swiftly to my phone and was blazing, the fastest internet speed I've encountered.

With so much joy, I rushed back to office, that was when the main trouble started.
Already my boss was waiting for me, so that he can use the blazing data from grand masters of data to send a quotation. Getting to the office, I tried everything to connect my boss laptop but it won't work. I tried almost all the laptops in the office, yet no way.
My boss being a very good man, suggested we leave it for sometime .

The following day, I came very early in the morning , connected my laptop, it worked perfectly and that was the end, when I tried to connect my colleagues , it stopped. Now the network comes like NEPA flash. It will connect with speed of light and stop. If it works for 2 minutes , it won't work the next 2 hours.
I have called Glo customer care , did all they asked, yet no solution. My location is 4G covered as confirmed by them.
I have to use my personal money to subscribe for spectranet to avoid getting sacked for recommending Glo.
What is the need of quantity without quality. This is my first trial of Glo service and already feeling exhausted.
To worsen the matter, I just login to personal care now and discovered that I've exhausted 20gb out of 60gb without being able to open even one page of yahoo mail.

Glo has been like that for years now, for where I stay their connection is like 2days on a day off or 1week on 2days off at times you enjoy ur data for hours it disappear for minutes. Pls stick with spectranet it's not advisable to use glo for business purposes.

I've learnt that lesson. Imagine the guy I met at their office today telling me that network is bad, even there in their office.

OP, I'm quite surprised at your experience with GLO LTE. I've used Glo LTE on both Huawei E5573s-606 and E5377bs-508, and it was great.

How good is Glo LTE reception at your location, in terms of signal bars?

What is the model of the router? Be specific, like how I listed the MiFis above.

Hope you switched the network mode of the router to '4G Only'?

Huawei LTE CPE B315. See I want this thing to work more than anything, people are beginning to think I work with Glo because of how I frequent their office to resolve this.

I believe you are using Huawei B315s-607. Like I said, make sure reception is good at your location. Also, switch the network type to 4G Only, so that it doesn't automatically switch between 2G, 3G and 4G.

So I finally learnt how to use Glo 4g router. For a company like Glo, ICT based, not to have solution to my predicament really baffled me.
