(note Adeboye actually referenced a Muslim. He knows with whom the church battles now) Edwin Dico Okugbo said: Please lets not get this wrong. Jim Obazee is too small to have taken such a decision that forced Pastor Adeboye to step down. It was not his decision nor his implementation. They tested the waters to see the reaction. They saw the reaction and pulled back and made Obazee the fall guy. Dont be distracted to start to put the thing on Obazee. That is the easiest way to lose your guard. Keep watch. The people that made and implemented that decision are still very much around and active. The FRC law was passed by GEJ in 2011 after the NASS made the law but that version of the law had no connection to Churches. No connection at all. The law was recently amended by the Buhari administraion and passed on the 16 of October 2016. It is this version of the law that brought in the clause that sought to subjugate Churches. If you listen to Pastor Adeboye's statement when he announced the new GO, he made that pretty clear. He said clearly how they have started to interfere in Church activities. He never ever made that complaint anytime during GEJ's tenure. I have also seen some people saying that the law was right and in tandem with what obtains all around the world. There is no bigger lie than that. Joel Osteen took over his father's ministry. Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, took over his father's ministry. Kenneth Copeland's children are already co-running his ministry even to the second generation. The list goes on and on. These are American preachers. The country whose democracy you follow. Same obtains in Europe. The only places you see such restrictions on ministries are in Islamic countries or communist countries. The point here is that you cannot intefere with people's personal ministries. If as a government, you believe there is any financial impropriety in any ministry, there are proper laws and channels for handling that. But what just happened was a step into the Christian community to see how they can weaken the community and disorganise it in preparations for future elections. So this was not about Obazee and Pastor Adeboye made that clear in his statement. He said and I quote "Some people believe that RCCG is becoming too influential and we’re going to be more influential. When you get home, tell members to join a political party. Just join any party. We shall decide issues right from the ward level. If you are not active at ward level, you’ll do what they plan and say at the top. Enroll in any party of your choice and have a card. When holding meetings at ward level to choose delegates, be there." One Muslim in Ibadan said years ago that he didn’t know what’s wrong with Christians; that we help them to occupy political positions and refused to capitalize on our population. That’s going to change from now" the man of God said. The government has been showing increasing interest in church affairs" If Pastor Adeboye thought for one moment that it was the handywork of one man, one insignificant unknown man called Jim Obazee, he would have simply called any of the big RCCG people in the corridors of government to sort him out. Dont forget the VP is an RCCG pastor. But this was not a one man affair. It was a plan by the powers that be. A plan which came just after Pastor Adeboye was verbally attacked and insulted by the APC, officially, for his statement to Gov Ayo Fayose. And most importantly, some of us who shouted ourselves hoax did not shout because of Pastor Adeboye. No NO NO! We shouted because the laws didnt just affect Pastor Adeboye, it affected every Pastor and every ministry in Nigeria no matter how big or small. That law would have crippled Christian and ministry activities in the future and there was no telling where it would have led. We must continue to stay on our guard. Dont be carried away by the sacking and "suspension" of the law by the President. A law cannot be suspended after it has been passed by the house. It has to be reviewed and changed or expunged, not suspended, (Whatever that means). |

My humble heart bleeds on this matter. The dimensions that political jobbing and religious jingoism has elevated such straight forward matter to. Apparently, in the absence of intellect, emotions take over. And boy, haven't Nigerians waxed emotional on this already far more than anything else. To those who hate president Buhari, this a most juicy topic such that even when their folly is shown, they hang on so tenaciously still. Fayose asked (albeit through his jaundiced mouthpiece, "Lere Paimo" why Buhari hadn't acted as fast with the communal killings in Kaduna as he did with sacking the FRC boss. This is a question designed by the mindless for the truly brainless to chew on! This question is a no brainer as it is akin to wondering why it was faster for me to fire an insubordinate staff than to find out who stole the 6-pack of coke in the office fridge.By the very nature of life, some things are always gonna be easier to implement than others. However, since Fayose and his ilk are adamant on their rhetoric that Buhari is a fanatical Fulani islamist with a Salafi agenda, we can only pity them for viewing all development in Nigeria through that trapdoor. That understood, we may then go on to engage the rest of us in more educative discuss on happenstance in Nigeria after politely asking Lere (Fayose's own version of Wike's Owoh) to excuse us and go fart outside. To my dear Christians who are being led to see this matter from a religious war point of view, I dare ask you this question; are Fayose, FFK et al the model warriors for Christ? Whose side is he on? This same Fayose who co-imposed Ali Modu Sherrif on PDP, who was in cahoots with Dasuki, Obanikoro, Agbele and Aluko to divert monies for the war on Boko Haram to rig Ekiti elections which he eventually "won"? The chicken will come home to roost one day and these charlatans shall be put in their proper place. |

People just make comments without looking at the merits and demerits' of the argument. If the children here on NL are properly censored, maybe right thinking people can begin to make some sense. Fayose also raised issues concerning the killings in Southern Kaduna. Are we also saying he is fool*sh for speaking on their behalf.... Guys cut the crap and start using your brains! |

Gov. Fayose is hero to IPOB esp IGBOs and lovers of BRING BACK CORRUPTION. Try and be objective: The Code was passed during GEJ( ur corruption-tolerant Hero) The Minister of Trade&Investments had obtained an approval from Buhari to stand down implementation only for OBAZEE(a frm Redeemed Member) to push for implementation against higher directives!! YET, U still blame BUHARI for d backlash of G.O ADEBOYE's Action. It's not logical to play politics without being OBJECTIVE!!! |

LorDBolton:Dude, believe me, they are actually mostly educated adults too oh. Many of these handles are commercial handles opened in multiples by emloyees of unscrupulous politicians to distort the field of discuss. E.g. you must have been noticing the sudden rise in online promoters of Atiku for president 2019. That clearly shows you that offices has been opened in Abuja and Lagos staffed with i-pad, i-phone, tab, notebook and PC totting young chaps with the mandate to flood the social media space with pro-Atiku material. |

wailer Fayose is blind and deaf to any issue on hand, he will always comment oppositely on issues. Mr. deaf and dump Fayose was the law in question made yesterday rather than between 2011and 2013? I know the good people of Ekiti state will soon get out of depression wailer Fayose has taken them into. |

The same buhari that refuse to intervene in Fulani killings, kaduna massacre, but with speed sack Jim Obazee, this is pure tribalism. why condemning fayose with all the fact he mentioned. you people seems to be parochial in nature who cannot discern the action of buhari. buahri pro north, since his arrival as president, neither south west nor south east has meaningful development, the whole aids coming into the country is going to maiduguri, another 1000 km oil pipe line from niger to parth of north, indeed buhari want to islamise the whole country. |
