Chief Ikedi Ohakim and Hon. Emeka Ihedioha received a serious backlash amongst Imolites this morning in a phone-in programme of Hot fm radio station, tagged people's Assembly. The radio had introduced a topic concerning their interviews that the state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha is incompetent to govern IMO state, over the lack of local government election in the state.

But over 94% of those who called-in for the program didn't minced words in lampooning the two PDP honchos, questioning the rationale behind their intrepid cum audacity to brand the present governor incompetent considering the level of developmental strides being recorded in the state under his administration.

One of the callers specifically challenged Chief Ikedi Ohakim to name his achievements in his four years term as governor which lasted from 2007 to 2011, asking if it's his dredging of Nworie river, commissioning of Okigwe regional water scheme and construction of Oguta wonder lake that only existed on billboards.

Another caller took on Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, calling him a failure who was lackadaisical about the development of Imo state, going by his abysmally performances throughout his 12 years in the federal house of Reps. The people advised the Former governor and deputy speaker to stop distracting the government of Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha in order for him to concentrate on the development of the state, especially the ongoing urban renewal project.

The FACT remains that apart from Dee Mbakwe, nobody that has ever governed Imo state in the past has ever delivered the number of projects as done by Rochas. And i am saying the honest truth. Take a look at the hospitals... His university which is about to be completed will definitely be one of the best in the whole country atleast based on the infastructure available. Endless roads, new primary school blocks, even if hapharzadly done...

So lets put the criticism in some sort of perspectve; yes! He should be serverly dealt with for leading the gang of igbos that railroaded the igbo into an abysmal political relationship with this utterly evil Aparthied Peoples Congress. It was/is a major political treachery that must NEVER go unpurnished. That move has retar-ded the level of political/economic development in the east and igbos should no more excuse noisy politicians who out of personal relationships force negative political unions on the igbo. . YET! While at it, a little understanding of the fact that he is at the moment, the most productive governor east of the Niger is not out of place...

I don't think so. I just left Owerri few days ago and I lodged at Concorde for 9 days mingling with Imolites that returned mainly from USA and Malaysia. It was an unanimous agreement by all that Okorocha is probably the best Governor in Nigeria. If you doubt just pay a visit to Owerri and the rural areas. Most people resident in the State did not notice the level of transformation because it happened in their presence but those who left for 2 years and came back were overwhelmed.

there's no credible igbo politician that can be the president of Nigeria, be it PDP or APC.. Rochas doesn't even come close at all in anything credibility, in fact he'd lost it ever since he became the governor of Imo state.

I disagree with the 'the most productive gov. east of the Niger'. Productivity is relative, consider his projects to the indebtedness of Imo state and compare that to that of Enugu and Anambra states and you agree with that Rochas is a collosal failure, Imo is the third most indebted state in Nigeria, next to Lagos and Kaduna states and point to the projects that dragged Imo into a ₦220 billion and counting debt under him.

Rochas just mortgaged the future of umunnem ndi Imo at altar of selfish national political ambition.

Ndi Igbo does not need, i repeat, DOES NOT NEED Nigeria's presidency, all we need are Igbo political leaders that will expend 75% of accruable income to the states on developmental projects and the industry of Igbos can drive the rest. All the tribes and states that produced presidents and vice are not realistically better than the Southeast.
APC can shove their Igbo presidency down their bom-bom for all i care, just give us responsive and selfless governors, Rochas is not one.

This talk about "igbo doesnt know politics" again? How? Where?? When Because they have been relegated from the presidency post 1970? Enugu is the most indebted State in the Southeast but it doesn't mean much. What matters is how it was utilized.

Obviously one of the paid propagandists. Udenwe built and a equipped standard teaching hospital, built a secretariat, built Umuguma specialist hospital. Udenwa built roads that are still in good shape today...I could go on and on.

The school buildings Rochas claim he built are UBE projects executed by states after paying counterpart funds. It is also built in other states. The hospital you said he's building, these have been abandoned na. He started them 5years ago. The project is a white elephant one because for show manship he started them in places which are on the expressway and most times not close to the people, again, as I speak to you now, no state hospital is functional because he had been having issues with health workers in over a year. Those hospitals are almost impossible to be completely equipped with both gadgets and personnel inpresent day Nigeria. Every road Rochas built has always had potholes in maximum of 4months. The said university is being built with public fund but it's his private one, the same way he built Ochiedike with public fund but now functions as his private diagnostic centre.

When Rochas leaves office, what will be his legacy?

Forget politics of bitterness and accept the truth. We drove in group from Owerri to Nwaorieubi and many never believed we were far away from Owerri. Is Nwaorieubi not a rural area?

Nwaorieubi has never been rural. It is the headquarters of Mbaitoli LGA. Nwaorieubi is very close to Ubommiri which is part of the capital city. That road was even finer when Udenwa first constructed it. Agreed Rochas dualised some part of it, but it's no reason to be shouting Rocahs' name.
