If you truly can, then you are in business just a matter of selling to the mallam here, or let me keep that to myself but if u can get $1 at the rate then u can simply buy low and sell high...and recycle your fund.....I won't mind if your can show me how to get it at that rate anyway....

Reading your post I have realized that it is ripe for you to start a business for the future. You have the same line of thinking with Strive Masiyiwa. The only difference is he has built long lasting businesses, you should too.

Next time you are in Uyo,Akwa ibom state I would love to meet with you let's discuss some business.

Buharillionaires: Brief Summary of All my Business Encounter in 2016. Take a Bow

2016 has come and go, for many it was a year with not so many good financial tales, for some others it would be a year to be remembered for years.

Regardless of whatever side of the divides you stand, as to how great the year 2016 was, do not be quick to forget the Proverb and i quote "The same Boiling water that hardens the Egg, Softens the Potato" - Its not the environment you find yourself that matters, its what you are made up of. Recession or not, last year several hardworking nigerians cashed out happily from their business neglecting the economic recession.

Aim: Early last year 2016, i gave a brief account of all the businesses i did in year 2015 ( https://www.nairaland.com/2838270/brief-summary-all-business-encounters ). Today, i will be giving an account of all business i ran in the year 2016, my strong points and weak points.
I will try my best to ensure, each summary can be of help to those intending to go into any of the business.

An impressive write-up and I read last years write up too. I wish certain sectors of the community can take some of them and make use of it instead of whining about Buhari and the promise of change.

I have a simple question though, aren't some of these ForEx activities illegal and counter-productive to the anti-corruption policies of the federation? I may have read the ForEx options wrongly.

In any case, I cannot but have respect for your devotion on the tomato business specifically.

I'm not trying to be moralistic here but for the PTA, taking different client's details to get dollars with the intention of selling off at black market just doesn't sit right.

But for all your other income streams, kudos. Takes a brave man to achieve all this.

The business concept, many employer wont

share with you

Let’s me introduce myself to you, in order to lets you know am

not here to scam anyone rather to break you from Financial

hardship, Am here to strictly give information not advert or

profile selling
, am (Andrew O.K a.k.a engrkunlexy4u, am

from Ibadan but base in Aba), I started the business during my

service year in Aba, and today the rest is good story to tell.
Before I continue to explain, try to answer this question if

you can, and also know some facts.
1. The largest selling of textile materials in Nigeria is

which state?
2. Electronics container from oversea is entering lagos as

Number 1 importer , while Textile,Okirika (Buskoro) is entering

which state as Number 1 importer?
3. 70% of the shirts, pants trousers we used in Nigeria,

is made from where (you will never know this, if you are not

from Onitcha or Aba)?
Lets me share these amazing facts with you?

70% of boxers used in Nigeria is made from Aba (anybody with

contrary evidence should quote me wrong), shirt they sell and

jeans is directly made from Aba. The question is, are they Aba

made? Nope and yes, what we called Aba made is simply lack of

packaging and that is why someone like I and you is going to

invest into all this area. Later, I will still share amazing

things about Aba peoples you need to know.

Introduction into the business (Boxers)
Boxer is made of different materials, we have close to 7

materials, but the common type of materials in making boxer is

majorly two in Nigeria today, check this link for the facts:

http://dudeundies.com/news/7-mustknow-mens-underwear-fabric-

types/ (Cotton and Bed sheets material), lets me explain to

you, original Boxers materials is made using Cotton material

(Shirt Material) because the texture is of high quality and it

does not wash nor change the color after entering water, most

packing shirt material we used are made of Cotton materials, it

also does not absorb heat and the washing is very simple, you

get this type of boxer in supermarket and good store. Lets me

share of other the materials with you, called bed sheet

material, go and look for a bed sheet material that brings

color and remove hair after washing and you will understand

what I want to explain, note: we have some bed sheet material

that are costly but am sure they will never use that to produce

boxer, only a big company use it, Bed sheets material is very

cheap to get and most people get their profit from using that

in producing boxer, as per say Nigeria like cheap things, Bed

sheet materials has less (good) and thick textile texture, this

is the type of boxer you wear and 2nd day your yarns and this

stuff will begin to ask for fresh air (you get that line),

where can I get that? Some fake supermarket store, aboki for

road, omo igbo for road side, infact they can sell it for you

at 150 to 200, they have already make their profit. It is left

for you to choose what you want as a visionary business person.

Why you need to do the business
Do you know that 50% of ladies now wear boxer? Do you know that

10% of women (our Mother) also wear boxer? Do you also know

that 80% of our papas now wear boxer and lastly do you know

that 95% of grown up guys have nothing less than 3 boxers in

their wardrobe? All this estimate was not so in the year past.

Before our own generations wear pants, am still a young guy,

our ladies don’t even wear boxers before, our mother don’t try

it, while our father only wears pants or none. This facts

should make you know that the paradigm of fashion is shifting

and its for the best brain that will grab this profitable

future opportunity and make it a reality. Another reason why

you should do this business is, do you know that most people

used to overlook the production of boxer and very few peoples

knows how to sew boxer well, ask anybody in the North and

western part of the country where they are producing boxer,

they will tell you from yanki(abroad) or those guy that don’t

have what to do.

The marketing strategies
I will like to explain from what worked for me during my

service year and now I can be proud of it. Then we used to pick

it at the rate of 200 naira and packed it into 3 in a good

nylon for just 1000, the nylon at times attract peoples, people

talk about Aba made, Simple definition of Aba made is what

simply lack packaging and lack of well arrangement, though I

know some people sew bad material for boxers and still sells.

We give out to our fellow friends and also go to nearby store,

banks and offices to deliver to them, some get attracted with

the nylon and the color packed inside. Also, know that if

people love you, even if they have 10 boxers at home, they will

still buy from you, mostly, ladies sell faster than we guys you

understand better.

How do I make my own profit?
The profit is very simple; first, ensure you are getting a good

material from your supplier, because this will make your

business sustainable for long. Imagine you are getting at 200

per one and you are packing it into 3 per 1 as in you pack 3

boxers inside one nylon for just start of 1000, mathematically,

you gain 400 on it, which means 100+ on one boxers, may be

after expenses of buying nylon and may be you want sticker to

the nylon, you later make 100 on each boxer, I believe that is

enough for anybody. Secondly, you can target supplying it out

to people close to you, I have a guy who always acts as a

middlemen for the boxer, he gets it and supply out to his

people for sell, he made faster money than we do then. Making

your profit depends on how you can think deep on it.

Risk attached to this Business
I believe there is no business without risk, any business that

poses without risk must not be a genuine business. Number one

risk is frustration? What do I mean, if you ever buy boxers

from an untrusted person, and your customer started condemning

your goods, you notice that frustration is the first thing that

will come to you, advice, don’t go for anybody you cant trust

in supplying you the boxer, and no matter what, never allow

your customer to select boxer and that is why we packed it in a

nylon, because all colour can never be so attracting, they

compensate each other. Secondly, if you fail to establish

market or target a market, you may be disappointed that it is

easy to establish with mind but execution is a challenge, my

advice for you is to talk about it to friends and family even

your enemy and lets them comments about it. Lastly, You are the

last risk, don’t join because I said its profitable, simply

follow your dream and lets be fits into making it before you

start, I started with my mind fits in making it, and today,

after my NYSC, I stayed back in producing my own boxers and

also work as an IT executive for one popular radio station in

the city.

NOTE:
The business is sweet, but if you don’t have right mind of

making it, don’t start it. Today, am supplying to different

state today simply because I started the business from my mind

after gathering all the facts needed and I develop a right

attitude towards it. I started producing my own with less than

200, 000 today, though I invested more than that into it now.
If you will like me to supply you anywhere you are in the

country, I can incur the cost of sending it but it will be (a

pack) which is 25 pieces inside a pack nylon at N5,000 for now,

I will pack 3 in 1 boxer separately from your 25 pieces as a

sample for you, you pay after receiving it, you pay to the

person that will give to you or from where you will get it from

after bargain on sending it, I will only incur the cost of

transporting it for the first time and subsequently you pay for

the transportation on your own, all is to clear your doubt

about it.

:If you have interest on how to make your own boxer with

less than 200, 000, just drop your mail on this forum, I will

mail you.

For any interested fellow.

Inspirational! Motivational!! Exceptional!!!

To Ymodulus:
Thank you for sharing this with us... You definitely are a blessing to us in this forum. I hope you get to give us more business ideas this year.

To my fellow Nairalanders:
From what I read, I don't think Boss Ymodulus can reply us all.

I was just thinking if we can create a group where our young boss can be the admin and dish out useful info to us and then we take it up from there since Nairaland doesn't allow some stuffs to be explained in to to based on their rules. I'll like to know what like minds think about this idea.

Seriously, I was thinking of "entering the streets" this year as nothing dey at all.... But with what I've read so far I think there's still hope for me.

Tomatoes Business

At around April/may last year, I and IzikJon imported tomatoes into the country from neighboring country Cameroon. We imported tomatoes worth millions of Naira and sent them to various part of the country to sell.
Around april last year, tomatoes was hot cake or should i say gold. We both documented our adventure or sojourn on Nairaland here.

THE IDEA

Ater several thought of going into a new business which Half way  into the month of April, i have been reading wide and far ( i read the papers daily), and i noticed that that the product TOMATOES has been on the High Side due to scarcity

- Even celebrities were complaining:
 https://www.nairaland.com/3090036/waje-bemoans-high-cost-tomatoes
- Lagosians complaining: https://www.nairaland.com/3091570/lagosians-groan-prices-tomatoes-skyrocket#45398311

This was in Contrast to early Febraury last year when the price of tomatoes was as low as N300 / Baskets due to a Glut in the market. You can read here for more Information as to that date ( https://www.nairaland.com/2939685/tomato-glut-hits-katsina-markets ). Having taken note of this development, i headed my way for the popular Mile12 -Ketu Market in Lagos state, making the necessary research and then headed for my journey.

Soujourn

My Travel Soujourn and Experience.

I wont want to bore you with unnecessary stories so i will be brief, i will be sharing how we travelled from states to states in search for tomatoes.

Day1: LAGOS - JOS
We travelled to abuja via flight around 3pm and then board a sienna vehicle to Jos. Getting close to Jos around 10pm we were attacked by thieves close to the Jos Science High school Road., lucky enough our driver was fast to manuever and had go back. we go to jos around 12 Midnight.  we slept at jos to the next day

Day2: JOS SOJOURN.
-we visited the Farin-Gada market in to buy tomatoes. On getting there we were dissapointed there was nothing. The sellers attributed it to lack of tomatoes. We decided to meet the "Sarkin Kasuwa". I wont lie you Alhaji was to blunt to us ( Ymodulus and IzikJon ). He told us we wont get due to scarcity and that the few available are been sold to loyal customers. i got discouraged and stopped speaking to him.

-We then left and went down to mungo. we heard we can get from that area. we visited mungo, anpam west. we got nothing. we went all were we were advised too go. we literally slept among Fulanis even when we knew of the current fulani herdsmen fight. we spent 2 nights down in the bush. This is to tell you how deep into the bush we went.

Day3: Bauchi State / Jos.
- We woke up safely without been hurt by any herdsmen. They are lovely people. We drank live Cow Milk . i touched  cows easily and we all talked. We gave the fulanis N10,000 as a token of appreciation and then bidded them fairwell. They even saw us off through the bush down till we got a vehicle.

- We took a vehicle and headed straight to Bauchi to a town calles  Til De Fulani. This we did all to no success. In the town we were advice to go to another called Maga-Mungo Man. We went from Maga - MungoMon Village  to Gada to Angwari. All to no success.

- Same day we went to Borno State cause we heard we will be able to get in large quantity there. All these was to no success.

- Right in Borno State roughly about 30mins. We got to hear from another "Tomatoes Delale" in Lagos Mile12. That we can get tomatoes in Republic of  Cameroon. We asked him if he was sure, he confirmed to us that he was. He further added that 400basket of tomatoes came in from cameroon.

- This weekend us. my friend IzikJon said he couldnt continue on the trip. I told him not to worry. We both went back to Jos had a nice bath and went out to relax ourselves at Resort. All with the intention of travelling to Republic of Cameroon the Next Day.

Day 4: JOS - BAYELSA
Based on the information we got from the two tomatoes Dealer we have in lagos. They informed us that to go into the republic of cameroon we have to go through Bayelsa.

- We boarded a sienna through Plateau Riders to Abuja. We paid him extra to take us to the Airport at Lugbe.

- From Abuja we flew to Portharcout, and then board a bus to Bayelsa. This was the shortest route as bayelsa had no Airport. On getting to Bayelsa town i was troubled i recalled that bayelsa had no bordering town to cameroon. Thanks to my Google Map.

- We immediately  called our Tomatoes  Dealers in lagos and informed them of developments. My Major Dealer then told me a driver came down from Cameroon now with Tomatoes. We collected the driver's  number and we asked him questions about getting there. We then found out that we have to go through Cross River Calabar via a local  government call Ikom.

-We then went back to Portharcout. On getting to Portharcout we heard from a passerby that Ph- Calabar  is a 7Hour Journey by Road, As there was no direct flight that day to Calabar. This we were not ready for. If you use to travelling by flight you will understand.

-On checking the various Airline websites, We flew back to Abuja then board another plane same day to AKWA-IBOM UYO. We did this as the direct flight to calabar that day left already. We also heard that UYO to Calabar is roughly an Hour Journey.

-We got to Uyo and then took a vehicle to Calabar. We booked an hotel slept over till next day.

Day5: Calabar - Ikom. To Cameroon.

-We Checked out the hotel at calabar around 6:20am morning and headed to a park Called Ayade or Ayare Park ( Cant recall exact spelling but the park/pronunciation  is owned by the Current State Governor of Calabar. So we heard).

- We got to Ikom Local Government. And then made several Enquiries about heading ro cameroon. We got to hear that we cant get into cameroon without running  several  papers or bribing our way through. We decided to follow the latter. As it was the most Viable at that time.

-When we got in. We made research about where tomatoes can be obtained. We heard several Places, which we declined and headed to an area Filled with Hausas. we mingled spoke and interact in Hausa with them and they directed us.

- We made necessary  findings, till we were set to start..

We were so happy because the tomatoes we saw at Cameroon was as so described.- In Hausa " Jajaye Kaman Jini" :- As Red As Blood, Big and succulent. Have a view below

Special ShoutOut to Josites*. We enjoyed our Relaxation at the Tuscany and Resort Centre.

You can read more on our tomatoes activities in details here..... https://www.nairaland.com/3094096/tomatoes-new-gold-town-nairalanders

The stress in your story is a huge discouragement to venture in this sort of business.

Mhen, this business is fraud with grave risk. Riskier than risk itself.
Can you imagine, spending the night at the mercy of Fulani herdsmen in an unknown location - bush. Damn! Highway threats of armed robbers to people and vehicle conveying farm produce, boko haram threats in the north/north central and danger-frauded Nigerian borders are gory. I won't take all these risks swimming in shark infested waters.

I respect your bravely and tenacity.

The Bitcoin Business

I tried to give a detail tutorial on this sometime late last year, but the thread was deleted. Take a peek at rule 16 of Nairaland. So here i wont be going into details not because i do not want too, but because I do not want this thread closed or deleted.

Many of us know what bitcoins is, if you don't then google it up. October last year i dived into the bitcoin business. I imported my bitcoins largely from China and Trade them in Nigeria on bitcoins trading platform. Some days i sold little if i so wish.

IDEA:
Get the bitcoins at cheap rate from china and trade them on Trading Platforms at expensive rate or sell them to business clients.

Funding:
The Bitcoins business is a very capital intensive business, i started with a huge sum of money... self sponsored and continued.

Profitability:
I got little money in month of October till on 2nd of November when i dived into trading locally... Thanks to my friend AleairHub, he advised me to start trading locally and leave the international trading platforms of bitcoins. I took his advice and i must tell you i smiled to the bank. Thanks to IzikJon, MarcJoe they pressured me into the bitcoins business.

Something happened in November, something so personal and it really affected me, i was down for 3-5days... On the 9th of November to be precise i turned the sadness of the even happening to joy. I withdrew all the money in my account and threw into buying forex from abokis sending them to china just to purchase Bitcoins. I continued this was till the end of November. 31st november at around 4 P.M i confirmed from my statement of account that i have made a transaction of 409 million Naira - N434 million naira worth of bitcoins transaction.

In this month alone i banked 19.4million Naira + in Profits.
In month of December alone i banked 12million Naira in profits. I would have done better than november but the MMM News affected the bitcoins business in nigeria.

Difficulties and how i solved them
- Daily transfer limit: This wasn't really much of a problem to me, as i use one of the best business friendly bank in Nigeria, that allows even 50million naira to be sent from a Savings Account Via Mobile Banking. My Bank allows me to increase or reduce my transfer limit at will and on the fly. So this enabled me to be able to transfer millions to my Abokis.

-Account Locked: At a point in time my account was locked, i had to walk into one of diamond branches to explain the nature of my transactions on a Savings Accounts that warrants me to make such Huge transfer. My account was unlocked that day. I so love my Bank.

-Search for Forex: This wasnt really much of a problem i have several connects to settle this.

- Electricity: At a point in time powering up my phone, laptop was becoming a problem... i had to go pay for a month's rent at an hotel and focused fully. The month of November was a crazy one. As paying N20,000 a day *30days is no fun.

Remarks: The bitcoins business changed my life in a period of short time, the profit raked in were massive. I was caged in a room for days.

Disclaimer*
- To those who do not believe figures quoted on the bitcoins biz, can contact me.. i have proofs, statement of accounts and you can visit my office in Abuja if you so desire.

Bro, goodevening. i just followed you and sent you a private message on Email... please a need your reply so that i can discuss something with you

Just typical of Nigerians.... Somebody came with the audacity to tell us that he made a lot of money round triping foreign exchange and you fools are here applauding him. For your information people like ymodulus are the reason a bag if rice is 22000. So when you buy that expensive rice today do not complain you already endorsed it indirectly.

Mr ymodulus I do not think you are a genius, rather you are a fraudster and you deserve to be locked up for exhibiting your selfish attitude to the detriment of the Nigerian people. If you think you are not, drop your office address here let me submit a petition to the efcc , let's see moral your entrepreneurial expolits are.

This is so heartbreaking, foreign exchange needed for vital things is being cornered to fulfill your insatiable greed. I hope the mods take down this thread, naira land should not be a party to wrong doings.

Gerrarahere boy. When your done with reporting all government officials to EFCC that have exploited the country, then you can also go ahead and report yourself to EFCC for making an unwarranted and an uncalled for comment.
