The first contact a recruiter has with your application is the mail which includes your resume attachment.
The name and format you save your resume will determine if a recruiter will even bother to open it or not. Why shoot yourself in the leg by making a simple but big mistake.
Applicants are not only ignorant but also consider this insignificant when it is actually a big deal.
Here are ten samples of resume file names I came across not online but in my mail box in the past one week:
1. Current resume.
Like seriously!!! Are you trying to tell me this is latest version of your CV? You can do better.
2. Isaac(3)(7)-1(1)(1)(1)(1)-1.doc
Now look at this yourself. This file name looks like you are trying to write a password that cannot be easily detected.
3. CV..doc
A recruiter said send me your CV and you feel, here, take it, this is my CV. Well done!!! You have passed the challenge.
4. Isaac Hunter updated cv.doc
A round of applause for informing us your cv is updated
5. Isaac Hunter cv august 2016
So your life has not improved since august 2016. How can you send a cv edited in 2016 to a recruiter in 2017. Wake up, it’s New Year already

Saving your CV must have been so hard you had to save it 3 times. Or could it be you don’t trust your laptop cause the first 2 saves may disappear?

Is your name longer than twitters 140 character limit that you had to write your first and last name together without spacing?
The best and right format is to simply save it in your name, for example, Isaac Hunter_Resume
