Neither have i... thing is with naija cats it's hard to separate the mediocre from the talented.

Unto twitter hype I downloaded rapture by oladips and I wasn't impressed, a month + later decided to download Hotyce n it was impressive

So what can I say... Until the industry is standardised we just have to depend on 'guts' when choosing whether to listen to download/stream an artistes latest offering or not

Exactly, even if there is a nice album out there, we probably won't know because it will be so underrated. Imagine Mode9 dropped a nice mixtape, it didn't even make it to the mainstream. Our music taste in Nigeria is so effed up.

I was a bit dissapointed by These Days, that was why I was reluctant to download it. I'll download it before or on Monday then.


I just digg the way he sings his chorus and hooks. Ab-Soul and ScHoolboy Q, you may not like them but you can't hate them either, they are just there.

Yeah, 900538 is cool, though it didn't use up to a month when I stop listening to it. I downloaded that Isaiah "The Sun's Tirade" album too, Bday is my best track.

I listen to other Black Hippy members because of the love I have for Kendrick Lamar. You can't love Kendrick and not love TDE crew, not just possible. I digg this their lil sister too SZA, she's R&B dope. more like a Bada*s Jhene Aiko.

With the recession hitting my country, I listen to Money Trees - Kendrick Lamar ft Jay Rock everyday, No 1 on my playlist

She's really underrated, I remember when I use to jam her song with Kendrick Lamar, Babylon. Those TDE crew are operating in another level, their music on HigH level sh!t.

Not a fan of both but I have given each a chance by listening to few joints from both sides...so imma call this down the middle with my objective unbiased views


Drake:

I hear that the nigga from Toronto doesn't write his raps but should we judge him based on that while hip hop heads praise "chronic 2001" as a classic while fully aware that Dr Dre didn't write a single song on that album and no one calls him out for having ghostwriters?...drake just doesn't make great music regardless of who writes for him.

I think Drake's music is more appealing to white suburban kids,he doesn't really attracts the ghetto demographics because many consider him an R'nB artist with only a handful of rap songs in his catalogue,so the comparison between him and K Dot(a full time hip hop artist)does not seem right already, "Drake vs Future" would have been a better one


Kendrick Lamar:

Kendrick got some impressive quotables and some nice joints but personally I'm not a K Dot fan,I think 70 percent of his beats wouldn't suck as much if Dr Dre handled most of the production,as for his raps I feel like dude is trying too hard to be anti mainstream with his pseudo concious lyrics which I feel he writes most of 'em while looking up meaning of the words in the dictionary,he is very very far from being the "next 2pac"( the title he needs so bad) but I feel he could be considerd one of the best if he just did him....knownsayin


The Verdict:

Both artists are from different backround,different lifestyles and their style of music is VERY different,so the don't appeal to the same crowds but both are successfull artists
