Noneroone: illiteracy is truly a disease.. check the meaning of referendum and cases where it can be applied. it has nothing to do with renaming streets, cities or countries 7 Likes 1 Share |

Alexxgold:lol...you must be a cretinous creature. Where in my post do you "streets"? I specifically mentioned cities. St petersburg of russia like igweocha was once named leningrad in honour of lenin (like lewis harcourt for port harcourt) but was reverted to its name through a referendum. Another russian city will soon try to undergo name change through referendum. Do you know berlin also attempted name change in 1916 through referendum? Reverting to original name of ph is easy but it'll just be for formality sake cos everyone know its true name and true owners. You prolly think referendum is one of the protocols of secession only. To think of the fact that you called me illiterate...lol fool 8 Likes 3 Shares |

We have never for ones meddled with the history of these Ibos, if they like they can be Jews or Ugandans we don't care, but every now and then they want to tell us our own history. History story made in Aba. You people should please stop, because no matter how hard you try you only end up making fool of yourself and make us hate your Biafra the more. Lol, all these yoruba n igbo tribalists have started again, this is 2.0.1.7, grow up bruh and to the guy saying the locals refer to ph as igweocha? Lol, bro abeg nor dey lie na.... i have been in ph for close to 7yrs,but this is the 1st time i'm hearing that name.... and to clarify, igbos don't have the whole ph, (maybe just a little part, i dunno), but if you believe you do, then pls kindly enlighten me, of where the ikwerres, kalabaris, etc originated/migrated from. It's like saying Asaba is an igboland or say Urhobos own delta state, or itsekiri own Warri or saying edo belongs to the ishans 2 Likes |

9jasite: Harcourt did not find any port or called any city port Harcourt. Rather the city was named after him in honor of Foreign Secretary of Britain. There was a time "Secretary" in government meant "Minister" as in today's USA government where Secretary of State is the same as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Please be informed that Eleme is not Ogoni. 2 Likes |

opuambe: I suggest you speak for yourself. Do you think the name, Okrika, is Ijo? There are many Umu Okrika in Igbo land and beside many places in Okrika are named such as Amadi -Ama by denial artists instead Ama- Amadi or Ogan- Ama instead of Ama-Ogan. Even Ama Ikiri has been twisted into "Amachree". Some folks are pitifully phony. 1 Like |

freshkik: So for 7yrs you didn't learn any history about Rivers State. Do you even know that Ohaneze Ndigbo vice president is from Rivers State. Some places like Rumuola is called Umuola which means the children of Olachukwu. Do you even know the Delta State you mentioned which a city like Asaba is located is part of Ohaneze Ndigbo . Asaba (Igbo : Ahaba) is from Ahabagom, meaning "I have chosen well. This is why Nigeria abolished teaching history in schools. I can remember when a certain roman called Pilate crucified Jesus but still called Jesus the king of Jews even when the chief priest of the Jews objected, Pilate said what have written, i have written. What am saying is with the little details Pilate heard and saw he knew Jesus was a king and have Israel remained independent until Jesus days, Jesus would have literally become the king of the Jews. 1 Like |

Ekinematics:Parts of Abia and Imo makes the modern Rivers state. that should tell you that the state is a mixture of minority and parts of majority. ikwere is igbo if they claim that they aren't let them change their names, culture and language which are all derivatives of igbo to whatever they claim they are. PH is an igbo city people are fighting hard to change its original nature. 1 Like |

Noneroone:Igbo boy is it your father that will conduct the referendum ? From 1960 to date how many referendum as been conducted in Nigeria ? How many referendum as been conducted in the East ? Did Ojukwu conducted a referendum before embarking on the war of succession where he lost almost 2 retarded beings like you ? Where on Earth do some of you derive the sense of entitlement to demand privileges others do not have or have you all gone bananas ? 3 Likes |

The people from IGWEOCHA know who they are and the tribe they come from, despite the devious attempts at confusing them by lying to them about their identities and changing their community names, eg from Umuokpara to Rumuokpara, from Umuibekwe to Rumuibekwe. This is a waste of time. The people on this thread crying for nothing, are doing just that ... crying for nothing. 2 Likes |

Ballmer: Is this all you can say "Igbo boy". Ojukwu fought war without money and locally made weapon for 3years. Did you hear that "for 3years" even with the armies and weapon at the disposal of Nigeria they couldn't even defeat Ojukwu for 3years. Look at the business and properties we have everywhere that is becoming a threat to your existence and you call igbo slow. It will take your clan 300years to reach that milestone, that is if your clan is still existing. 3 Likes |

giftedben:the problem with you tribalist, is that once you guys detect some1 disagreeing with you guys, you tend not to understand what the person mean, ....u claiming history, oga history is wide, n we learn err day, on the rumuola ish, i think err 1 dat hv stayed there knows, there is rumuokoro, rumuochakara, rumuokuta etc, n dey all mean,... "the children of..." thats not the history i wanna be enlightened with, i wanna know how the "WHOLE" of port harcourt is igbo, n when explaining, i'll most importantly wanna know where the other tribes occupying the land migrated from..... you stated that ndigbo own a "PART" of Asaba, which i agree with totally... "A PART" is the keyword there, n thats what i believe igbo hv in ph too, not the WHOLE ph, as u guys are claiming (this is my disagreement until proving otherwise) , if u notice from my previous mssg, in those questions i asked, some of those tribes have a large stake in that land, but its WRONG to claim the whole region is theirs, for example the most well known and most popular king in warri is the "olu of warri" ...but that doesnt mean warri belongs to the itsekiris, or to say the urhobos have it because they have the highest population, nor can the ijaws claim they hv it, becoz they hv the biggest region (when both water n land mass is added)..... So thats what i believe, that yes igbo might actually have a portion of pH, but nor they claim ownership 2 Likes |

I don't take tribalist from any tribe serious, becoz apart from the other many negativity bout it, it brings bias & reduces the intelligence of our discussions n argument, n this affects those that come here to learn (like myself) For me i don't believe ndigbo own port Harcout..maybe a part, but not the whole But lets assume for example that truly, ph is an igboland... N lets assume that i was a yoruba tribalist, n i come across this thread that enlightens bout the history of ph, instead of learning , na fight n arguments....& lets assume their was nw crystal clear envidence to support the claims...d tribalist ll simply switch tactics to sometin like " una they argue say lagos (that is deep rooted in the SW) na no mans land, n u want make i believe say ph wey nor even they una SE region, na una own,ba?" U see this ll kill any kinda valuable infos dat ppl can come n learn from....so what im tryna say is "SAY NO TO TRIBALISM" lets leave as one :/ 2 Likes |

freshkik:You are still not understanding the history of Rivers State and how Port-Harcourt came about. There are no sentences in the OPs article where he stated that igbos owns river state and why is it when you stand to be corrected you call the person a tribalistic. Port-Harcourt is owned by Ikwerre an Igbo sub-group just like the Ngwa's owns Aba, Abia State before other villages were later absorbed into the city. |
