A man was hospitalized with serious injuries after authorities say he set a fire outside the Trump International Hotel in Washington DC. Around 9:20 p.m. ET the man received serious but non-life threatening burns during a protest outside the hotel, D.C. Fire officials said.

It was unclear whether the man was trying to set himself on fire, or what his motivation was, although some Twitter users said the man was trying to harm himself.
