Henry240:The NAF has been very transparent about this regrettable incident , in order for the NAF to fully comprehend what went wrong they have to be transparent about this issue, BLUE ON BLUE is a tragic accident that does happen even to the most advanced Nations in the world regardless of all the checks and balances, what the NAF should do is to institute checks and balances to minimize such horrific incidents. 1. MAP OUT ALL THE IDP CAMPS using the GIS SYSTEM 2. MAP OUT ALL THE HOSPITALS using the GIS SYSTEM 3. Bring forward the training of Forward operators/ Spotters/ QRF if possible incorporate now i with the training being given by the BRITISH. 4.The findings of the board within classified reasons has to be published the ( Pilot's name together with the Air Traffic Controller's name MUST be REDACTED) . 5. The NAF and the F.G must ensure they pay a timely and commensurate compensation to all victims, no foot dragging. 6. Part of the compensation on the NAF's part that would go a long is too allow the children of the Dead victims to attend the Nigerian Airforce Primary and Secondary schools free of charge. 7. Those who then graduate should be encouraged to apply to the Nigerian Defence Academy. 8. The Pilot has to be" stood down" for a certain designated period of time and extensive counselling given. |

Henry240:[Updated] Nigerian air force overflies Gambia, have capacity to strike – Official The Nigerian air force is flying over The Gambia, an official said Thursday, as African troops seemed ready to force incumbent Yahya Jammeh to quit after his December election defeat. President-elect Adama Barrow was sworn in at the country’s embassy in Senegal, while Jammeh has continued to cling on to power. Jammeh initially acknowledged president-elect Adama Barrow as the victor in the December vote but later rejected the result. “I confirm that the armed reconnaissance air force are over Gambia,” Nigerian Air Force spokesman Ayodele Famuyiwa told AFP. “They have the capacity to strike.” Famuyiwa said that negotiations were still ongoing with Jammeh, a leader who has ruled the West African country for 22 years. “What we understand right now is that it appears he’s trying to reconsider his position, he may stand down,” Famuyiwa said, speaking from Abuja. “But we have our troops there and they are there to enforce the mandate.” The UN Security Council was set to vote Thursday on backing ECOWAS efforts to force Jammeh to hand over power as the West African regional bloc amassed a military force ready to intervene. The Economic Community Of West African States has repeatedly called on Jammeh to accept his defeat and honour the country’s constitution. |

Henry240:Ol boy, you get brain die. It is not the platforms, they are more than 20 years old on the average. It is not the firepower, we have seen much more. It is in the professionalism of the deployment. Nigeria is only second to SA in sheer operational competency. |

Adminisher:Oga, I find this your comment to be very offensive. You should post comments with facts, not some random opinion when making comparisons. ![]() ![]() Nigeria is not second to anybody in Africa We flew 6777 hours of combat sorties in support of Operation Lafiya Dole in 2016 without any form of incidence. That's the figure for the North-East for 2016. We also flew in the North-West, North-Central, South-South and South-East. Nobody in Sub-Saharan Africa flew this much for a single operation. Nigeria's total figure is higher. There are 30 combat videos released by the Air Force in 2016, all of these combat sorties showed a military with an unmatched professionalism. Please, do not post comments on things you do not know. Thank you. |
